If you have a fire hydrant near your house or place of business, please take a few minutes and clear the snow from it. If we need it to fight a fire it will help us immensely. Thank you.

Department elections will be Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Central. You must be wearing a mask at all times in the building. This year there will be no meal, and members will be asked to vote and leave. Results will be announced after 8:00. Thank you for your cooperation.

As crazy as 2020 has been it is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this Thursday. COVID-19 has generated a whole new list of guidelines for the holiday, but one thing remains the same. Thanksgiving is traditionally the peak day for home cooking fires. As good as they taste, deep fried turkeys require some additional caution. The Ridgway Fire Department would like to wish you and your family an extra safe and happy Thanksgiving. Please take time to remember the essential workers that are working so hard to keep this country moving forward, and especially the men and women that are in the US Military or serve as police officers. Also remember the first responders that are and will be ready to render assistance if called. God Bless America!!!

Our 2020 Gun Bash will be live on Facebook Saturday October 17th at 3:00. This is a virtual event and the station will NOT be open to the public (Thanks COVID). As previously announced we will be awarding the cash value of the guns on the ticket, along with the $1000 grand prize. If your name is drawn we will call you to get a mailing address and then send you a check. Winners CANNOT come to Central to pick up the check (Thanks again COVID). We thank you for your support and patience.

Public Notice!! The Ridgway Fire Department Central Station and Second Ward Station both serve as emergency shelters. Through the Ridgway Borough we are applying for a grant to help make these stations more COVID-19 ready. The Emergency Solutions Grant-CARES (ESG-CV) code blue grant in the amount of $99,925.00 is would address the HVAC systems, restroom facilities and provide UV disinfecting systems large enough to cover the social hall areas. They're back....Fireman's Sausage Sandwiches that is!!!!!!! On October 5th, 7th, and 9th Ridgway's West End Grocery will again be selling Firemen's Sausage Sandwiches for $4.00. West End Grocery will then donate $1.00 for every sandwich to the Ridgway Fire Department. Wow!!

As you know we had to first delay then cancel the 2020 Gun Bash due to COVID-19 and the Governor's rules on gatherings. On Saturday October 17 (time to be announced) we will be drawing this year's winners from the main ticket. Our plan is to stream it live on Facebook. This year we will be awarding the value of the guns by issuing a check to the winners. We will also award the $1000 grand prize. So............if you want a chance on the prizes, time is running out. On Wednesday October 7th the Ridgway Fire Department will have our rigs on display at the Carnival Lot for Fire Prevention Week from 6PM until 8PM. Due to COVID-19 we are sorry to say we cannot offer fire truck rides this year. Sorry. Masks and Social Distancing will be required. Refreshments will be available. Thanks

The Ridgway Fire Department wants to thank everyone that participated in our Pizza Sale and 50-50 drawing. The 50-50 paid out $800. It will be up to the winner as to whether or not he or she wants their name published. This fundraiser was very successful in a very difficult year as nearly 500 pizza's were sold. Thanks again.
