Well the last 20 hours has been interesting to say the least. At about 0051hrs December 26th I heard what I thought was a bear knocking over the garbage cans on the front porch. So I waited a few minutes and then went out to see what the Clatter was. To my dismay No garbage cans knocked over and no sign of a bear. About to go back into house when out of the corner of my eye I caught a flashing yellow light near the bus garage. As I moved to look across the road I realized th...at there was a car sitting sideways against the garage. Well to say the least things got a bit unsettling at this point. A quick look to see if driver was ok and yes he was awake and coherent told him to stay put as I could not see how to get him out. Next the call to 911, ask for ambulance, emt, firetrucks and state police. Within seconds of the page out my phone had several texts and calls from concerend friends asking if I need help, my answer was just the ambulance and police. So all I had to do was wait. I was figuring it would be a few moments till anyone gets here then like out of no where suddenly a truck rolls in and I was taken back at the quickness of their arrival. There were 2 firefighters hunting just up the road when the page went out and the came right away. Shortly there after many other fire and emt responders arrived with 2 Stone Valley fire vehicles, the twin creeks ambulance, and the the sate police. To say the least it was a great relief to look at all the faces and know these responders were my neighbor's there to assit and take care of things. I want to name names but I would forget some of them, so here is one big thank you for what you do ! Thanks to each and everyone of those folks that came to the scene, the dispatchers and anyone else that assisted. I want to say a special thank you to Ken and Mike Foster from East Branch Construction for helping me 9 hours today. We removed the damaged parts so the building could be shored preventing further damage, built a frame and tarped the opening, repaired the second garage door enough to allow it to be used, and loaded 2 dump trucks with the demolsihed parts. Again thanks to everyone for your conceren we are good because you do what you do !! Oh and yes children even with one bus down until it is repaired or replaced you will still have a bus ride to school... Here are a few shots of the situation. We are all secure and good now the..ugh ..long wait till insurance folks get things moving to fix it.
