Nice review I received via email: I made an appointment to see Chris for structural integration massage because for more than a week I’d been suffering terrible muscle pain knots, cramps and spasms from the right side my neck, through my shoulder blade and down my arm. Nothing I tried was helping. Chris spent significant time with me in advance of the massage to understand where the pain was and my activities that were likely promoting it. We spoke quite a bit about my wo...rk set up, and after our appointment, he shared with me several exercises that could help avoid the problem going forward. I really appreciated his insights and willingness to go above and beyond the massage to teach me better habits. The best description I can think of for the therapy itself is relieving. It was primarily based on applying and maintaining pressure on the areas where the stress was originating. Chris was able to determine these areas, which were not always where I’d have thought they were. The massage was also an interesting lesson in musculature! At times the pressure could be intense, so Chris checked in with me often to ensure I was as comfortable as possible and adjusted the level of intensity as needed. Following the treatment, my range of motion and comfort levels were immediately improved. A bit of soreness remained for a couple days, but it subsided, along with the knots in my neck and shoulder.
