As promised; progress photos! We are done the hard part, now we are onto the cosmetic phase. Paint, tables and chairs, a flower box, and gardening. Who's excited? We are!

We have lots of work to do, but this was too exciting not to share with everyone. We are E X P A N D I N G our outdoor seating! In just a couple weeks, it will be ready for service! What this means: - More outdoor seating capacity - Less wait times on those busy weekends... - An outdoor space for private events DURING business hours! (finally) - A space for bands to set up for live music during brunch/dinner (dinner coming soon!) - More mimosas! - We get to see more of YOU! If Gay St closes down again this Summer, Roots will have no shortage of outdoor seating. Stay tuned for more progress pictures and keep us in mind for your next Spring/Summer event!

It’s the story we’ve all been hearing--PA government pulling the trigger on restrictions aimed at the restaurant industry and other small businesses. It is certainly not encouraging to see some of our industry friends close their doors, change their hours of operations, cut back on staff, etc. This is not meant to undermine the significance of things that affect us negatively or cause us pain, but we want to shed light on another story. Call it a sequel, where in the borough ...of West Chester everyone is the hero. Restaurants raising money for foodbanks and charities and vendors donating free product to make it work; mobs on social media promoting their favorite restaurants and informing each other of their hours and menu offerings; marketing companies offering free promotion videos for struggling businesses; artists creating masterpieces and donating their commission to those in need; hardware stores offering free propane tank refills for patio heaters; fundraisers for afterschool programs; neighbors helping neighbors, families helping families. In a time where we recognize so much division, we cannot ignore this profound unity! Roots thanks all of you, and we thank our staff, for every effort that has been made to actualize the sentiment of being in this together. We started a fire, and as long as there is fire, your favorite restaurants can keep on cooking.
