Undocumented Fears: Immigration and the Politics of Divide and Conquer in Hazleton, Pennsylvania Dr. Jamie Longazel, John Jay College of Criminal Justice Monday, September 23, 7:00 p.m.... Rotwitt Theater, Rosemont College Free and Open to the Public Jamie Longazel is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. His research examines issues of race and political economy, typically within the contexts of immigration and imprisonment. His recent book, Undocumented Fears: Immigration and the Politics of Divide and Conquer in Hazleton, Pennsylvania (2016, Temple University Press), won the North Central Sociological Association’s 2017 Scholarly Achievement Award. A strong proponent of popular education, since the release of Undocumented Fears he has been working with grassroots organizations on understanding the political economy of anti-immigrant backlash.
