The Perry County Bicentennial mobile museum has a busy schedule this summer that includes SIX tour stops in July. Stop by any of the events to walk through the ...mobile museum to get an up-close-and-personal look at some of Perry County’s rich history. Also see our comment on this post for a few photos showing off the inside of the museum! The Perry County Bicentennial Committee would like to thank the Historical Society of Perry County, the Perry County Council of the Arts and The Perry Historians for their ongoing support and assistance during our bicentennial celebration and the mobile museum tour!

John Huggins laid out the town of Liverpool on 121 acres he purchased in 1808. His plans reserved land for a church, a graveyard and a school. Liverpool became... a bustling center for trade, making use first of the river and then of the canal, which was completed in 1831. The canal remained important through the 1880s, as reflected in the town’s beautiful architecture and the park along Market Street. Thank you to The Perry Historians for providing the photograph.
