Our club will greatly miss our friend, PDG Buddy O’Malia. Our deepest condolences to the his family. There are no words to express how much Buddy will be missed. His warmth and kindness extended to everyone around him as soon as he entered a room. He was truly a class act.

Through the ups and downs of 2020, The Dallas Rotary was fortunate enough to be able to continue with one of our favorite events in a modified shopping event for some children and their families who were in need. Thank you to our friends in the community who helped us make this event possible this year! A special shout out to the wonderful group at the McDonalds in Shavertown and their generosity and the Lake Lehman High School for the use of the grounds. We welcome 2021 with open arms and are anxious to continue our work in the greater Back Mountain Community.
Wishing all of our family and friends a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy New Year from the Dallas Rotary!
Members braved the cold yesterday and today, to help out The Salvation Army. Stop by to say hello and also stop in the local shops to support those Back Mountain businesses.
Thursday night, we had our very own Sandy Peoples speak to us about the history and current work of the Back Mountain Food Pantry in our community. Our members also brought non-perishable goods to the meeting to donate to the pantry. Additionally, our friends at Trinity Presbyterian Church graciously gifted us with funds from two of their endowment funds to help with our children’s shopping event that will be held in December. #Rotarycontinues #serviceaboveself #DallasPARotary

What a wonderful night last Thursday was: Thank you to Fred DiMaria for welcoming us once again to the Appletree and providing us with a nice place to meet and a great meal to eat. We enjoyed a delicious dinner outdoors on the patio and held our meeting there also. We were pleased to welcome District Governor Joe Loughman and his wife, Past District Governor Marcia Loughman. DG Joe shared some information on district resources, RI opportunities, the valuable role of Assis...tant Governors, and talked about some of his hopes and dreams for our district. We then welcomed new member Dale Rinker, accompanied by his sponsor (and brother-in-law) Fred Hunt, to be inducted as our newest member by our own Kerry Freeman. Golf committee co-chair Kerry then gave an up-to-date report on our very successful golf tournament. We had the best and largest tournament in 38 years, he declared.
Some news on this year’s Wine and BrewFest.

Our own Ken Chapple was our speaker and delivered helpful information about the Cancer Society. He is a volunteer there and helps with the needs of patients in our area by driving them to doctor and treatment appointments. He spoke about the vast resources they have to aid and guide patients through this difficult time. He also spoke about the challenges and rewards of being involved in this much needed program. This is one way Ken practices our motto of Service Above Self.
Don’t miss us at the Back Mountain Library Auction’s, A Twist in Tradition basket raffle. There are so many beautiful items and they have extended the event into Sunday! Head over to their grounds to purchase raffle tickets today for a chance to win!
Last night was a successful social distanced gathering at Jackson Township Park. Food was provided by AppleTree Terrace. Our very own Ted Horn spoke to the group about Covid-19 and the impact it has had on the funeral industry.
Last Thursday, we met at the fairgrounds to dedicate the "Paul and Jean Rodda" sign to place on our building. Joe Stager chaired this event and had some nice words to say about Paul and Jean’s generosity and years of service to our Rotary Club.
