Lower Merion lost a hero last night. Please keep Firefighter DeMuynck, his family and fellow firefighters in your prayers.
Many thanks to Rich Kahmer who recently donated a Protexus electrostatic sprayer and disinfectant liquid to the Ridley Park Fire Co. This sprayer will be used to disinfect the truck interiors and other vital equipment. Thanks for your generous donation!

Santa’s on the move!!!
The predicted weather is less than ideal, but Santa and his helpers WILL visit Ridley Park tomorrow! Please see the message and the COVID safety note. *** Santa’s Annual Fire Truck Ride through Ridley Park *** Santa will once again visit Ridley Park on Christmas Eve, with his helpers handing out candy canes to children who come out to greet him (and dog biscuits for his four-legged friends as well)!... We can’t predict when we’ll be on your street, but we start at 11 am and follow the same route every year, so we’ll most likely be there around the same time as previous years. Listen for the sirens to know when we’re close. We look forward to seeing everyone and wish you all a safe and happy holiday! *** Important COVID Note *** - For everyone’s safety, Santa’s helpers will be wearing face masks and gloves and the candy canes are individually wrapped. If you would like your child to receive a candy cane, he/she must be wearing a face mask and be standing on the sidewalk by your home. If you would like your dog to have a treat, you must also be masked and waiting along the sidewalk with your pet. Santa’s helpers will not approach anyone not wearing a mask (children included) and will not leave the sidewalk area to approach a home. If you’d like to stay distanced and just want to see Santa, simply stay on your front steps/porch/doorway and no one will approach you. Thank you for understanding.
Our firefighters answered 9 calls in Ridley Park, Prospect Park, Upper Darby, Darby and Colwyn during yesterday's storms. This is our crew evacuating a resident from a flooded residence in the Darby/Colwyn area. Strong work team!

Today we pause to remember Chief Engineer Charles Joseph Elder of the Ridley Park Volunteer Fire Company (Station 7) who passed away on this date, December 30th..., 1984. Chief Engineer Elder Collapsed on the front ramp of the fire station after returning from and cleaning up from a Brush Fire on Morton Avenue.
