Mass unemployment and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits has created problems across the country, but notably in Colorado and Pennsylvania. Because of how current laws are written, the overpayments are *not* waivable by the state, so the state must recoup those losses. Unfortunately, this means reduced payments and major hardships for those affected who had no idea they were receiving overpayments. We wish the best of luck to everyone affected by this error.

On March 20, 2020, the White House enacted a waiver of all payments and interest on federal student loans until September 31, 2020. On August 8, 2020, the White House extended those waivers until December 31, 2020. Anyone willing and able to continue making payments are able to do so.
