Prevention: Achilles Tendinitis & Plantar Fasciitis. Eccentric heel drops will increase tensile strength of the Achilles tendon by loading the tissue as it lengthens. Imperative for running, jumping, and changing direction. Add this exercise into your lower body workouts. #rtpathletics #prevention #healthtips

Case Study History: Patient dislocated his right shoulder about 8 years ago. He struggles with lack of shoulder rotation and fairly consistent discomfort with overhead activity. Treatment & Result: Treatment techniques involved relieving tightness and spasm in the pectoralis major, pectoralis minor, and subclavius musculature to help open up his chest and anterior shoulder. The rotator cuff and capsule of the shoulder were treated primarily with myofascial active release tech...niques (ART), cupping therapy, and joint mobilization. Rotator cuff treatment restored 85% of his motion with capsular treatment bringing him to 100% motion. Patient finished with full shoulder range of motion and little discomfort present with overhead activity. During the same session the patient was trained and instructed on prevention exercises to help strengthen and stabilize the shoulder joint. See more

Case Study History: Patient is a pickleball player who was suffering from plantar fasciitis and medial arch pain for months. His condition was affecting his performance on the court and his activities of daily living, with persistent pain first thing in the morning. He experienced some relief with a few footwear adjustments and home treatments, however was unable to make significant improvement. Treatment & Result: Patient reported to therapy for 4 consecutive weeks. Treatmen...t techniques involved removal of spasm and scar tissue both above and below the problem site, strengthening medial arch stabilizers and intrinsic foot muscles, and reducing tension in the plantar surface. After completion of his regimen, the patient was nearly pain-free with activities of daily living and able to resume court play for 2-3 hours at a time. He only experienced mild soreness post activity. Patient was prescribed a home treatment plan to help continue his progress, while adapting to full court activity with no restrictions. *Note* - Typically with a condition such as this, specific muscles can be overused and others underused. Thus, creating poor foot mechanics and eventually leading to localized inflammation and pain. #rtpathletics #rehab #therapy #sportsmedicine
