Dear fellow skiers and your wonderful kids! As the ski season is fast approaching, there are some conditions imposed by our unfortunate new reality and recommen...ded actions to be taken now to alleviate possible difficulties in the future. Some things to consider: with the borders closed, a lot of o people will go skiing locally, and with the limited capacity of the resorts it may create sold out conditions and long lines. Same maybe applied to the equipment more local demand for ski rentals, seasonal and otherwise( same as with the bicycles in the stores..they finally start to showing up at the local Walmart). Lift ticket sales are moving to the online ADVANCED RESERVATION and PREPAYMENT systems( check Camelback website!) Elevated demand for the accommodations may create a lack of short term lodging options Combination of these circumstances may create a situation when a last moment decision to go skiing to PA will be very difficult to exercise. My suggestion is to plan ahead as much as it is possible for you. Seasonal ski rentals are still available at the stores, a friendly ski shop in Poconos still can offer a very discounted season rate. Get together with your friends and buy a couple of season passes so you can alternate the use of them. Come ski on the weekdays. The mountain should be open till 8-9 pm daily I will try to help as much as I can. There is a house near Camelback/Jack Frost where you will be able to stay for the short stays, and maybe some assistance with the lift tickets. The ski learning schedule is filling up already for the Christmas time, so if you want to take some lessons be that known and put yourself in the schedule Just like all of you I don’t like this new reality. At the same time many of us find an exceptional joy in being on the skis in the mountains, so let’s try to make the best out of winter season ( by planning ahead ) ! Think snow! Here is an English version: Dear skiing friends and your wonderful kids! At the start of the ski season(we have started it already at the American Dream in NJ), here are som thoughts and ideas for the upcoming learning and skiing season at Camelback and elsewhere. Many ski areas in our neighborhood announced their operating modes and limitations for the winter. As I read them, the limitations include preferred treatment for the season passholders( no or limited single ticket ...sales), advanced reservations, dispersed sitting on the lifts, requirement to boot up and change in the cars, no food services in the lodges and some more. Camelback announced only a few rules so far, namely dispersed sitting on the chairs, advanced lift tix and ski rentals. They also indirectly hinted about paid parking, as the list of the benefits for the season passholders includes free parking. So here is a recommendation to plan things ahead, so all of us will be able to enjoy skiing to the fullest and waist no time in the logistics. Please look at the option of getting a couple of the season passes and split them between friendly families and groups. Yes, you won’t be able to ski together, yet when you come to ski it is going to be much easier. My friends who moved to Poconos and PA: please consider a Value pass for yourself and your kids. It is cheaper option that allows to ski freely on the weekdays and after 3 pm on Sat. and Sundays. If you work from home, your kids are on the remote educational regiment, you can easily ski 5 times a week if you want. The mountain it is pleasantly uncrowded on the weekdays and usually closes at 8 or 9 pm. I plan to be on the mountain the whole season and will happily offer group skiing and learning sessions for adults and kids on the weekdays, as well as the traditional free adults-only sessions on Thursdays. You also have an opportunity to spend a couple or more days in a good company at my house near Camelback. You can stay individually and as in group, a couple days or seasonally. BTW, those who moved already or looking to purchase a home in Poconos and PA I’ll be happy to help you to find a best possible financing/refi program and interest for your house, as I work at pretty good mortgage company. Дорогие господа горнопляжники и ваши замечательные горнопляжные дети! В начале лыжного сезона (мы его начали в American Dream) вот мои соображения по поводу катания/обучения на Камелбеке и других местах. Большинство гор объявили что они откроются с ограничениями. Из того что я прочитал, это означает предпочтение для сезонных билетов, ограниченую продажу билетов на один день, разреженую посадку на подъемники, необходимость одевать ботинки в машине и отсутствие кафе и баро...в на горе. Камелбек много пока не сказал, пока только правила посадки на лифт, предварительная покупка билетов и рента лыж. Так же намекнул на платный паркинг, т.к в описании сезонного билета бесплатный паркинг упоминается как бенефит.. Так что пожалуиста готовтесь заранее, в смысле логистики, жилья и билетов. Рассмотрите вариант покупки сезонных билетов, чтобы можно было чередовать выезды между семьями/группами. Для тех кто уже переехал в Поконо на ПМЖ, работает из дома и дети учатся из дома, рекомендую Value Pass сезонный билет. Можно кататься в любой день, кроме выходных, с утра до вечера, суббота и воскресенье после 3х. Гора открыта как правило до 8-9 вечера, так что можно прекрасно покататься и поучиться во второй половине дня, и народу в это время не будет. Я планирую этот сезон провести на горе, приглашаю всех желающих детей и взрослых на групповые занятия на неделе, и специальные бесплатные занятия для взрослых по четвергам. У вас теперь есть возможность провести выходные в Поконо на лыжах в хорошей компании в моем доме недалко от Камелбэка. Возможен рент индивидуально и для небольших групп на отдельные дни и на сезон. Кстати, для всех кто переехал или планирует переезд и покупку домов в Поконо и ПА, буду рад помочь с финансированием покупки, т.к. в работаю в mortgage company.
