trust I heard someone say this morning that the word trust looks like its bracketed by two crosses. I never noticed that before. For him, it conjured up images of judgment, invoked fear, and made the idea of trust in God difficult. For me, that image is a comfort because I know that the cross isn't God's judgment on me - or us - it's a sign of His all-encompassing love for us. The Triune God, as one and as a threesome, loves us so much that God the Father choose to send ...Jesus to us to die, Jesus choose to come and die on that cross, and the Holy Spirit agree and then agreed to come be with us after Jesus ascended. How can I not trust someone who loves me that much? As a mom and grandmother, I have no trouble envisioning putting myself in danger to save my kids or grandkids. God's love for us is so much bigger than that. Jesus' love for us is so much bigger than that. He didn't just die for us. He gave up His place in heaven, came to earth as a man, lived the way we live, endured all the same temptations and physical limitations we do, then He went to the cross and endured unimaginable pain for us. He did all of this because He loves us and wanted to save us from ourselves. He didn't just 'earn' my love, He showed me that He is worthy of my love, trust, and devotion, in a way no human being can ever match. So, from now on I will think of trust and having a cross on each end, and that will remind me that I can trust God - with everything. Today trust God with everything in your life.

The Jesus Breath Prayer Light a candle, play some soft music, say a meaningful prayer, a Psalm like the 23rd, or whatever you do to enter the stillness of devo...tion. The monastics call this practice entering the cave of our heart. The Franciscans have a prayer tradition where they lower their head below their heart to remind themselves that it's our heart first in approaching God. A breath prayer is simply a way to drop our linear mind, to enter our spirit through our breath. Take three deep breaths and slowly center yourself in your heart. As breath is spirit, Breathe in this moment... Let the stillness soak into your being. Breathe in forgiveness, and breathe out your release. Breathe in faith, and breathe out thanksgiving. Breathe in silently saying 'Jes', and breathe out silently saying 'us'. Allow yourself to cross the threshold into the rest of Christ finished work Close your eyes or let them rest gently focused a few feet in front of you, Let your face relax into a soft smile as you breathe naturally Breathe... embracing belonging, releasing gratitude, Focusing on the presence of Jesus. Letting go and letting God, Like a trust fall into the arms of God Allowing yourself to feel well, and whole in these eternal arms. Feeling Beloved Feeling the joy of God's presence. Free from suffering and harm, Free and whole. Take your time, savor, and soak in the presence of God. ~ Bob Holmes #comeintothequiet

Thought for today: No human power can restore my sanity - only God can. Turn it over to the one who is all-powerful!Thought for today: No human power can restore my sanity - only God can. Turn it over to the one who is all-powerful!
