The WECCC is launching a new initiative in an attempt to take back from this virus, a small portion of light that it has tried to block out. We are asking that... every church member, attender, visitor or friend take just a moment out of each day to jot down a few words of encouragement. It can be a prayer, scripture verse, kind note or whatever God puts on your heart. They can be on pieces of paper, index cards or the back of a napkin, just something so that we can place them into every meal that goes out our door. For many the only moment of human connection, support and love is the time spent around a table at the WECCC. This pandemic has robbed us of our dinning area but it will not prevent us from loving our neighbor! These letters of encouragement can be dropped off at the WECCC office or at the church, we will have a box clearly marked to gather them, or they can be mailed in. They can come as individual notes or grouped together from families, Sunday School classes or pews but let’s work together and push back the darkness if even for a moment in the lives of those who are in need, the neighbors that we are called to love. While we only ordered half as many as in years past, we still have a few poinsettias coming on December 23rd that are "unspoken for" and available for those who might like to have one for their home, office or as a gift. Helminiak's Greenhouse always provides gorgeous plants. Contact the church office if you would like to reserve one in honor or memory of a loved one. They can be picked up on the 23rd between 11 and 4 or by appointment in the evening.

My apologies for inundating you with Facebook posts this week. With not being in face-to-face worship, it is one of the easiest, most cost-effective ways for us to get information into your hands. If they are not of interest/relevant to you, please just disregard with our apologies. If you know of someone who is not connected through technology and would appreciate the information, please help us out by sharing with them. We will attempt to send out occasional information updates through emails and also snail mail (USPS) when its extremely important info. Please help us out by sharing the information as appropriate. Thanks for your help in getting the word out and in making the best use of our tithes and offerings.

Advent Giving Tree: Even though we are not in the building, we still want to make these beautiful ornaments available to you. Stop by the church during office hours to place an ornament in memory or honor of a loved one. $15 /ornament. We encourage you to take it with you to give as a gift or hang on your own tree this holiday season. All funds go to support the ministry of our Saint John's-Newberry.

We are so thankful for all of your generous donations to bless our friend Arlene Brown for her 90th Birthday this week. She is far away by miles but close to our hearts. We raised almost $2,000 to go to purchase items for her Mama and Baby Ministry at Urukundo. Your kindness is so appreciated! Happy Birthday, Arlene! WE LOVE YOU!

For those of you joining us for the 8:15 service, we request a little grace today. With our secretary Kris caring for her husband, there are no printed lyrics today, and we have had to change the order of worship so that Judi might be home to help care for her dad. Thanks for understanding.
