Three years ago today, on July 1, 2018, our parish family gathered with Bishop Kurt to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our Church. Special Guests included former pastors, Father William Gore and Father Robert Slesinski, Archpriest James Hayer, and Father Edward Higgins. Eparchial Development Appeal : An invitation has been sent to our parish family from Bishop Kurt regarding the 2020 Eparchial Development Appeal. Bishop Kurt asks you to thoughtfully reflect upon the countless blessings bestowed upon you throughout the past year with the hope that you will respond and offer a generous gift from the heart in thanksgiving for those blessings. The outreach of the Development Appeal enables our Bishop to more thoroughly spread the Gospel. We have always met our goal. Please be generous as this is the single opportunity throughout the year that Bishop Kurt utilizes in order to request a special gift from the heart. Please contact the parish office if you did not receive the Eparchial Development Appeal packet. Church Rosters and Boxed Envelope Sets for 2021 : We are currently updating our rosters for 2021. All parishioners from Bethlehem and Allentown will receive identical church envelope sets in 2021 since both parishes are currently served from Bethlehem. We are merging both parishes into a single roster at this time. If anyone seeks to officially register as a member of our parish family, now is the time to identify yourself. We are thrilled to add you to our parish family. See Fr. Peter if applicable. Please remember that masks are required inside the church at all times as well as outside whenever you are unable to maintain social distancing. We hope to resume sales in the near future. Church Offerings : Please indicate the amount of your weekly financial offerings on your church envelopes when you submit them to the church. If you use your financial gift as a tax deduction, payment by check creates indisputable evidence should the Internal Revenue Service audit you. Scheduling Divine Liturgies : Use the envelope as provided in your boxed set to schedule a Divine Liturgy for loved ones or a special remembrance. The customary offering remains at $10.00 First Solemn Communion : Parents of our First Solemn Communion class, 2019-2020, are asked to contact Stephanie Azar to acquire guidance in order to properly prepare our children for the postponed celebration due to Covid-19. Parents will receive guidance regarding First Confession and first Solemn Communion preparation so that we can reschedule our joyful event in the very near future. Saint Michael Church, Allenton, Update : A recent mailing was sent to members of St. Michael Church with a request to verify and confirm their membership. We have begun the process to prepare our rosters for 2021. Your response will greatly assist us. Since ordering church boxed envelope sets is an expense, we ask you to complete the form and return it asap in order to minimize unnecessary expense. Both parishes will receive the same set of church envelopes in 2021. Religious Education Classes remain suspended due to Covid-19. Please remember that masks are required at all times inside the Church and attached buildings. Masks are also required outside whenever you are unable to maintain social distancing. If you feel ill in any way you have a dispensation and may stay home until you feel better.
