Started in 1978, we are one of the oldest nursery schools in the area. We are one of the very few programs with a complete focus on preschool and not daycare. We offer preschool for children who turn 3 by October 1 and older. Our Three Year Old program focuses on social skills as well as academic skills. Our Four Year Old Program is a prekindergarten program with a literacy rich approach to learning. The classes meet for 2.5 hours for 3-4 days a week. All of our teachers have college degree's and are dedicated to giving your children the best possible learning experience in a nurturing environment. Our goal is to prepare your child academically and socially for kindergarten. We receive positive feedback from West Shore School District of our success. We want children to LOVE to LEARN! Today in the threes group, we "Ate the Rainbow!" Children got to try bites of red raspberry, orange, banana, kiwi, blueberry, and grape. Some friends had a new experience with kiwi - they liked feeling it's fuzzy outside, but weren't sure what to think of the flavor! Each student voted for their favorite fruit by color, and they chose - Red: 2 Orange: 2... Yellow: 2 Green: 0 Blue: 0 Purple: 5 - Grapes are our favorite! See more

We did projects based on the book If You Take a Mouse to School. We made mouse, play doh furniture, a purple volcano, and colored a real rose. Not pictured: trying to make baskets to the hoop in the gym and putting food in mouses’ lunch box. It was a busy day!

Kindergarten groups at SCNS We currently have four kindergarten students attending SCNS this school year. Two in each pre-K class. Mrs. Curtis will be teaching them in their own academic groups kindergarten curriculum. We have openings in our afternoon kindergarten group. We will be following a curriculum that includes writing, reading, kindergarten math as well as other kindergarten concepts. We are following the WSSD curriculum. The kindergarten children will be able to so...cialize with the entire preschool class during large group motor skills, large group play, small group educational play after writing time, and during circle time. The afternoon class is still 12:30-3 Tuesday-Thursday. The cost is $150 a month with a $25 registration fee. Contact us at [email protected] or 717-467-1784
