Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety is participating in the PEMA hosted 2021 Spring Weather Exercise today. In Westmoreland County, there are 2 Cou...nty Departments, 7 Local Emergency Management Agencies, 4 EMS agencies, 1 Law Enforcement Agency, 1 NGO, 16 Congregate care Facilities and 6 School Districts/Intermediate Unit participating. This year's scenario includes weather related events such as wind/tornado damage, flooding across prone areas in the County, power outages, and reports of buses stuck on roadways. Director Mertz provided a 0900 exercise briefing, followed by Deputy Emergency Manager/Planning Chief Tantlinger, and All Hazards Planner Rzodkiewicz.

Looking for a few volunteers to help pick up trash along Athena Drive, near the Westmoreland Heritage Trail parking lot, this Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Any time would be welcome. The Salvation Army is providing a light lunch in the Parking Lot afterwards. Let me know!
