The Great Grey - While out scouting for moose on the quite Wyoming roads I happened to see movement in the trees, the way they blend in trees is unlike any birds I’ve seen, the eyes gave him away and right as I could identify him he flew in this tree right past me. He stayed on this perch for only a few short moments and then was off again into the forest, silently. The Broad Tailed Humming Bird has quite the breeding grounds, from forests to mountain meadows of the Colorado Rockies, and that’s where we found this one! During my time hiking in Colorado I would hear these birds zip by without actually ever seeing them, so when I stumbled upon this one who didn’t budge when I approached it I felt pretty lucky!
