A BIG SHOUT OUT to the Lakeview Girls Softball and Volleyball teams. Members of the team took to the streets and the park in the Sandy Lake Borough weeding, painting, and cleaning up sidewalks. This was a volunteer effort as a way for them to give back to the community and businesses for all the support they provide throughout their season. Everything looks great!

Congratulations to this years 2020 Sandy Lake Community Fun Days King and Queen Carson and Barb Mertz. Due to this year's COVID-19 restrictions, there could not be a public presentation for this year's King and Queen. Carson and Barb Mertz were still presented as Borough Royalty this past week. Cards and notes of congratulations can be sent to the Mertzes in care of Sandy Lake Borough, P.O. Box 87, Sandy Lake, PA 16145 and the office will be sure to forward the cards to them.

Thank you Lakeview Girls Volleyball, Softball and Basketball for volunteering your time to the 3rd annual give back to the community day. The park equipment and Main Street sidewalks look great. Thank you Becky Hooker and Jodi Ray for organizing and helping out each year. Also Shirley Umstead, Cathy Oakes, Dan Schulz and Jarrett Troy for all the extras done through out the year to keep things looking great.

A big thank you to the Lakeview Girls Volleyball and Softball teams for coming out this weekend to work in the Borough. This is their 2nd annual give back to the community day. The equipment got stained, things got weeded, and the footbridge got painted. Thank you to Becky Hooker and Jodi Ray for organizing this event. Also thank you to Councilwoman Cathy Oakes, Dan Schulz, Dan Hemminger, Chief Johnston and Jarrett Troy for working along with the girls to help clean-up ...the park. Also working at the Veterans Memorial today were the Umstead and Sasse families trimming bushes, weeding and glass cleaning. They work throughout the year to keep the memorial maintained and looking beautiful. Linda Reynolds is also so kind to make and donate the wreaths that are displayed at the memorial throughout the year. It takes a team effort to help maintain the areas in the park and borough. Thank you to everyone for your commitment to the community! The Sandy Lake Borough truly appreciates all your time and effort.
