Enjoying a good weekend of ministry and fellowship with Pastor Gary Myers and the folks at Biblical Baptist Church in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania. We had a good group join us for our kayaking trip down the Susquehanna yesterday and I appreciated the opportunity of sharing God's Word with then at "lunch island." Looking forward to teaching Sunday School and preaching this morning and evening. First time preaching away after all this started, praying for God to use His Word greatly. If you're in the area and not already attending a faithful church today, join us for Sunday school at 10:00, the morning service at 11:00, and the evening service at 6:00 p.m.

My awesome son, Josiah Sansone has begun a video podcast called "The Rooted Project" dealing with life, church, ministry and youth. Here is the first episode on "How to Stay Involved in Church Without Being There (in the church facilities)" He also has done a few others on staying connected, missions, etc. Please take some time to check it out and subscribe (it is free). I believe many of you will find this of use.

Some have asked about an update on Sylvia Penberthy. Here is a recent post from her page. Again, I just want to say "thank you" to SO MANY who are praying for me and our family. We continue to hear from folks all over North America, many whom we do not know personally, and so many churches have me on their prayer chain. It is humbling and encouraging and exciting to see what the LORD can do. I had a very light-headed dizzy few moments yesterday but hubby helped me quickly ...get right back into bed, took my blood pressure which was completely normal, and brought me food and drink. It may have been from trying to cut back on meds or from overdoing it on Sunday (playing piano and walking around back of the yard photographing grandkids). I need to get X-rays of my back in about 3 weeks and then have a virtual visit (online/camera) with the neurosurgeon who did the surgery. I'm still awaiting a callback from the pulmonary specialists to schedule an appointment. They have my file now (CAT scan and discharge notes) but the lady who schedules was off sick today. Pray that God completely heals or removes the swollen lymph nodes and mass on my lung or that it is not serious. My poor husband has been through enough. The "deal" when we married was that he has to die first. I'm not allowed to die first! :-) This all is way too "similar" and I know he has his moments and probably some lack of sleep praying about and coping with this. Lloyd Paul Penberthy has been incredible; keeping up with all of the dishes, cooking, cleaning, helping me with so many "routine tasks" that I cannot do myself anymore; checking on me every hour or so if he is in a different part of the house, etc. I'm sure he is getting behind on his personal study time and sermon preparation. Pray that he can focus and work on that as I get more and more able to use the various occupational therapy tools to get myself dressed, bathe, etc. It will be a long haul and my back gets very very tired and aching just trying to sit at the computer for a few minutes to pay bills or send out an email or two. We love ALL of you and appreciate so much the kindnesses and concern you've shown our family. God is so good and will continue to meet our needs and take care of those who trust in Him. Thank you for praying.

I know that I seldom post on this page anymore while we are planting Lighthouse Baptist Fellowship in Lickdale, but may I ask our praying friends to pray for Mrs. Sylvia Penberthy, her husband Pastor Lloyd Penberthy, and their family at this time. About a year ago I had the privilege to preach for First Baptist Church of Hallstead, Pennsylvania where Lloyd Penberthy serves as Pastor. His wife, Sylvia, recently had a very bad fall from the attic of the church to the nursery ...below. After being taken to the hospital, they also found a large mass on her lungs. This is the latest update. BELOW IS THE LATEST UPDATE from Pastor Penberthy. So many have been asking for updates about Sylvia that I cannot finish giving one person an update before another 2 call. I am very thankful for all of the concern and prayers. However, to make it easy on me. I'll update through email and Facebook as much as possible. Just a short time ago, i spoke to her surgeon. He said that the surgery went well. She should heal fine. She will be in the hospital for about 5 days. She had a floating piece of bone as well as another fracture. She has significant osteoporosis as well. The mass in her lung is completely unrelated to the fall. She will need to see an cancer doctor. Please pray for my granddaughter and grandson and myself. It was very traumatizing (especially for small children) to see Nana fall 11 feet and land on her back. Yesterday was the 8th anniversary of Georlene's (my first wife's) funeral. I can't get the image of Sylvia falling out of my mind. I am clinging to the LORD, yet it is very difficult. Things can change in our lives in a moment of time. We need to be reminded that the LORD is glorified not in us being taken out of difficult circumstances, but in us clinging to Him and obeying Him and not being selfish through these times. He did not promise that we would not be in the furnace of fire. He did promise to be in the fire with us.

Enjoyed a good day of ministry on Sunday at Lighthouse Baptist Fellowship in Lickdale in the morning and preaching at Open Door Baptist Church in Lebanon in the evening. The evening message is currently still available at Open Door's Website (www.odbcministries.org) if you would be interested in watching it (you need to click "Watch Our Sunday Worship Services Live"). I have not watched it, but I looked at a little bit of it while preparing to mention it here and I discovered two things. 1. My hair is rapidly becoming thinner :( and 2. It looks like I was reading a written prayer from the angle of the camera. Anyway, thankful for the opportunity to preach God's Word. God is always good.

My heart overflows with gratitude for the Lord giving us such a great weekend of ministry in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania. It was great to be with Pastor Gary Myers, his wife Janet and the folks of Biblical Baptist Church for our annual Kayaking and preaching weekend. We had a great time on (and in) the river on Saturday and then a really good day in the Lord's house on Sunday. In addition to the opportunity for me to preach three times over the weekend, a highlight of the weekend was being able to hear Josiah Sansone preach on Sunday night and being able to sing with the whole group on Sunday morning - including Karen Sansone (our new daughter-in-law) and Jonny Beiler (our soon to be son-in-law). The Lord is good and we rejoice in opportunities to serve Him.
