Opening Day Announcements We will be starting our u-pick cherry season this Saturday, June 26. Both sweet and sours. Bring containers or plan to purchase a basket. ** All picking is at your own risk ** Expect to carry, set, and stand on one of our provided ladders.... All 2021 cherry sales will be by u-pick only. We will not have ready-picked cherries for retail sale. Open 8am- 6pm daily. Closed during periods of thunder and lightning (zip 16428 for local weather). As always: Wear solid footwear. No smoking. No pets. No tree climbing!! No picking outside of business hours. Check in at the red barn at 11820 Middle Rd. In response to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic. Yes, picking is an outdoor activity and Penna has begun lifting restrictions. However, safety is a main priority and members of our family, including our pre-born baby, have yet to receive a vaccine. All un-vaccinated adults, those who have recently traveled, and/or those who have been in contact with ANY illness will be required to wear a mask while in the barn. (I can handle a masked 12 hours at 5 months pregnant, visitors can handle an inconvenient 15 minutes.) Please be honest! Both sweet and sour crops look pretty good. You will see cherries at all stages of ripening, some empty trees and rain cracked berries. You'll also see some picture perfect fruit for which we're thankful. Prices start at $2.40/lb with details in comments. We accept payment by cash (preferred), check, Farmer's Market Nutrition Program voucher, plus all major debit and credit cards including American Express. Phew! Long post! We're looking forward to starting and to seeing you at the farm.

Do you see what I see?? It's almost too good to be true!! After a too mild winter and turbulent spring, our 2021 fruit season is fast approaching. Despite uncooperative weather and uneven pollination we feel fortunate to have both sweet and sour cherries this year. Some cherries are ripening fast with berry size and maturity far ahead of schedule. Other trees are ripening at a more typical pace. This could mean a drawn out harvest, but we shall see. We're kicking ourselves into high gear and anticipating a historically early opening. Certainly before June ends! Be on the alert for updates as we hammer out the details. Oooh sweet excitement

Good news, we've picked loads of apples this year. More good news, we're not quite done yet. This is last call for 2020 apples! Sunday, October 25 will be our last day for general business hours It's been a quiet week here due to colder, rainy weather. With work to do before winter sets in, we're making plans to finish up our season. Still in need of a bushel or more? Message me to set up an appointment.

The season may not hold long, but these apples will. Another beautiful weather weekend has arrived. Are you familiar with Ida? She's a rosy-cheeked, sturdy apple that will stick with you through the coming winter months. Ida is tart and firm when you first meet her, but will mellow nicely with time and fill your all-around baking, sauce, and eating needs. Now beginning to pick Rome Beauty, and Stayman Winesap apples. There is a limited number of both these winter varieties.... Also continuing to pick Cortland, Empire, Jonagold, both Golden and Red Delicious, Northern Spy, Fortune, and Mutsu apples. We've begun picking in bulk bins, the time to stock up has come. Still picking Niagara grapes and gleaning the last of the Concord and Steubens. Winter Nellis pears are sold out. The recent windy weather has picked many of the Bosc pears. Absolute last call for pears. The remaining fruits are scattered high in the trees. See more

Because truly, there ain't no place I'd rather be... I'm talking 'bout right here, right now... That's all I need... See more
