Our beloved Ms. Fairburn is retiring after teaching at SLCS. She has been at School Lane from the very beginning and we want to make sure she knows about the massive impact she has had on so many people. To do so, we encourage all students and parents to fill out the form in this post to write Ms. Fairburn a note and let her know what she meant to you or your child. Please pass this along to any other families you know who used to have students at SLCS that were impacted by ...Ms. Fairburn as well. We are taking entries until tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.! If you would like to be here for the big goodbye tomorrow, you can come to the Elementary Campus at 10:15 a.m. drive to the back of the building by the Middle School cafeteria (it’s a surprise). Thank you for helping us to let her know the difference she has made for so many! https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLScCwOrrws78-MkDE/viewform

Senior Spotlight! Brandy Lapinsky-Praul Plans for the future - Plan to further my career in the US Air Force and hope to work with K-9's.... Where do I see myself in five years? - I see myself re-enlisted in the military, possibly, living on my own, having a dog or two, and maybe another half. Favorite SLCS memory - Playing tag had to be my all-time favorite, yes we had gotten in some trouble, but it was worth it lol!!. Advice to Underclassmen - Stay on top of your work, never push it off or forget about it. Procrastination leads to a pile-up of late work and anxiety. It's not worth it.

Favorite SLCS memory: This one is a tough one, i've made so many good memories here with my friends, like just being in class with them laughing, to lunch, lunch with them was funny, we just mess with each other and joke, i guess you could say the little things with them were my favorite. Advice to underclassmen: Honestly enjoy your time but also do your work so you're not stuck stressing and worrying. Make so many memories and don't rush graduating! Time flies so fast.

Outside of work, I hope to be happy and save money for my own apartment. Favorite SLCS memory: There's a lot to choose from, but I would say getting to go to New York to see and tour around the Statue of Liberty is an experience that I'll never forget. I got to spend the days with friends and had a really fun day overall. Advice for underclassmen: Take advantage of the opportunities that the school gives you. Go to prom, join a club, anything. I used to not go to most events and then once I lost the opportunity to do any at all when COVID hit, I realized I missed out on so much. #HAGS

Where do you see yourself in 5 years: In 5 years, I see myself helping people feel better about how they see themselves and doing something I enjoy as my job. Favorite SLCS memory: My favorite SLCS memory is when I began my junior year. We had a little more privileges than before and I had a good time with my friends. Advice to underclassmen: Don't worry about the things people do and say during high school, it won't matter later in your life. Always ask for help and communicate with your teachers, you won't struggle as much that way. Always do what you can and don't leave the work for tomorrow when you can do it today.

Second she loved going to the Philadelphia Public Library with the Full Diploma Program students to do research for their extended essay, a requirement of the IB program. Her advice to underclassmen is; in high school it’s very easy to lose track of what you want, who you are, and what you're doing. Each day or at the end of each week, take a mental reflection to remind yourself of what you want, who you are, and what you're doing. Have something to work towards... always! Congratulations Sacha! There will definitely be times where you get overloaded on work so submitting late work is ok, it's better to submit late work that's developed, rather than rush to complete work on time. We will miss you Keshav! Thank you for all your hard work within the SLCS community! Good Luck! See more

Also, don’t let people make you feel bad for going after what you’re passionate about. I was told that what I wanted to study in college was not practical in making a career, but I’m super passionate. I will work hard everyday to prove those people wrong and excel in what I will be studying. We are very proud of you Jami for following your passion! Congratulations!
