Northern Berks EMS would like to take a minute and thank Schuylkill County EMA for the use of their command vehicle during our 2021 WWII Weekend at the Reading Regional Airport. The use of this vehicle allowed our crews to communicate properly and perform all needed tasks and assignments involved with this large scale event. This proper communication helped our crews to serve the public proficiently and safely. Thank you again to Schuylkill County EMA from your neighbors at Northern Berks EMS.

We at NBEMS want to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to all EMS providers throughout the country, especially our own amazing providers. You have all worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic and you deserve so much more than a simple thank you. You have helped keep this nation going through one of its toughest times. You have done so with the same care and compassion as always and for that we are so grateful You are all everyday heroes

Takes effect today....should be common sense but.... A new law takes effect today that you should know about. It’s called the Move Over Law. If an emergency ve...hicle (police, EMS, fire, tow truck, construction vehicle etc) is stopped on the side of the road you need to slow down 20 miles under the posted speed limit or move over if you have multiple lanes to put distance between you and what’s happening on the side of the road. Violators face $500 fine for a first offense, $1000 for second and $2000 for a third plus a 90 day suspension. See more

We are sad to announce that we will not be hosting any events once again for this year. As much as we love our First Responder Festival and Curt Rhine Memorial Car Show, we care more about the safety and well being of our staff and community. Our staff have been working extra hard during this whole pandemic and we all will be in pandemic mode still while everyone slowly gets back to normal. We are excited and hopeful that we will be able to have these events again for 2022. ...We have big plans for the First Responder Festival and big changes planned for the Curt Rhine Memorial Car Show for 2022! Please check back throughout the month of May as we will be sharing memories from past First Responder Festivals As always we are so grateful for all the support from our community. Stay safe and stay healthy
