After several weeks of discussion, Ryan has given me permission to share this information. We've been talking for a while about whether or not to "put this out ...there"... But in the end, we believe that having our friends, family, and community with us is an important part of our current battle. And that is the battle against cancer. Ryan has been diagnosed with an aggressive non-hodgkins Lymphoma. He will start chemotherapy treatments this week. The course of treatment is fast and hard, and unfortunately he has to get more sick before he can get better. But this is not a pity post. It is just a call for prayers. We have the most amazing doctors and we are confident that he will kick cancer's butt. However, if you are so inclined, would you pray for strength for Ryan, pray for wisdom for his doctors, and pray for Hannah who's world is upside down now as well? If prayers aren't your style, positive vibes would be awesome, too. While Ryan is a little overwhelmed at this time and not quite ready for texts/calls, he appreciates everyone's love and support.
