Scouts BSA Troop 541

Today we did a service project for our chartered organization by weeding, planting, mulching, feeding and watering two flower beds.

At our meeting last night, with two new girls there for their first meeting, the girls in the Thunderbird Patrol built a DaVinci Bridge as a team building exercise.

We presented awards earned over the winter and invested two new girls into our troop at our picnic at Fort Washington State Park on Saturday.

Supplee Church hosts Scouts BSA Troops 541 (for girls) and 542 (for boys). Scouts from both troops will participate in the service. Leaders and Scouts from bo...th troops will receive awards, and Scoutmaster Jay Eibner, together with Pastor Don Hoagland, will bring a Scouting related message. Troop 541 had a fun and successful weekend with great food, weather and fellowship. The girls were especially proud to have finished third in the joint 541/542 Orienteering Competition, especially as it's the first time they've competed. All of the girls also made great strides in their rank advancement as well. Leaders Jenn Fountain, Jan McLemore and Kevin McLemore had a great time too, and came home well fed by the girls' culinary creations.

We had our first campout of the fall season this weekend. The theme of the weekend was gourmet cooking. Despite rain, everyone had a good time.

Two of our assistant Scoutmasters are hosting us for a week of camping on their lake front property on Lake Champlain in northern New York. We're following COVID-19 rules and having a great time so far.
