It might be that other sport but this is the mindset of a champion. Iron sharpens iron!

A few days late but very happy for Killian Cardinale for becoming an NCAA D1 All American by placing 7th at the national tourn this past weekend. I am happy fo...r him for his accomplishment but I am very proud of him for his grit, drive, hard/smart work, never say die attitude. Those same characteristics were evident in Killian as a middle schooler when he was on our advanced middle school team the Marauders, and later in high school with our club team FCA Wrestling - Va. We never had to ask Killian to work harder or to give more effort. Typically he stayed after practice and worked more. In high school and into college I would come home and see his car in my driveway. I knew he was in our wrestling room with my son River and sometimes with my son Beau. He 1st went to Old Dominion, red shirted his freshman year, wasnt in the starting line up at the end of his 2nd year, last year he was a starter and doing well but Covid ended the college wrestling season. ODU dropped wrestling so he transferred to West Va. He has had his trials but has kept his nose to the grind, stayed a student of the game, made adjustments where needed and is continually getting better. He is a great quiet leader who sets the tone in the room on how to work hard. Killian is a good example to kids in our area (Prince William, Va) that they too can reach the highest of levels if they have the same characteristics as Killian. I look forward to watching him next year, and I look forward to having him in the FCA room some this summer investing back into the younger wrestlers and into the possible next Killian or 2.
