Zechariah 4:10 says Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. We are seeing these very small beginnings take place in Cambodia! Our friend Annie Buckles is sharing the story of a new and exciting initiative over on the blog today!

Twenty years later, we are seeing prayers answered and lives changed. Our God is faithful! "It started with a prayerone pastor saw the need and prayed. Then the pastor shared this prayer with other pastors and they prayed. Eventually, in the early 2000’s, these pastors met with Pastor Sinai Phouek and Mark Geppert and shared the need with them. That one prayer, approximately 20 years ago, has led to today: orphaned, abandoned, and at-risk children living in the permanent location of the New Hope for Orphans (NHO) children’s home in the province of Kampong Thom, Cambodia." - Tina Tomes

From all of us here at SEAPC, we are wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas filled with the love and joy of Jesus Christ! "But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship." - Galatians 4:4-5

"Gabriel’s words to the shepherds, 'I bring you good tidings of great joy that will be for all the people,' continue to resonate today. The world has passed through wars and peace, pandemic and discovery, death and life, despair and contentment in the ensuing centuries. Everything has changed since that night eons ago. And yet the most important things have not changed." - Laurel Houck Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever even in, ESPECIALLY in, the midst of a year that feels so much different from others. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, may we remember these good tidings of great joy!

"But as important as Bethlehem is, it’s also important that it not become the thing that is worshipped, an idol to believers or simply part of the historical secular experience. This writer has been blessed to visit the manger twice. The experience, while awesome from the perspective of standing on holy ground, didn’t rock my world as anticipated. " - Laurel Houck
