Congratulations to the 2020 Second Street Irish Society Scholarship Winners. All will receive a $1000 towards their freshman year in high school. I would like to thank everyone who supports the Second Street Irish Society’s Scholarship Program through the years. It’s only because of the generosity of the entire community that this program has grown from $1500 in 1995 to $20,000 this year. I will be following up with a thank you to all of our sponsors in another post. Thes...e scholarships will be awarded at our annual St Patrick’s Day Parade Mass this Sunday. Congratulations to Michael Remshard on being inducted into the 2020 Philadelphia St Patrick’s Parades Ring of Honor. Michael is an original member and 2 time president of the Second Street Irish Society. His two terms as president totaling 8 years. He was and continues to be a driving force in the Society’s commitment to service. I spoke to him last night to congratulate and more humble he could not be.
