Sellersville Disc Golf

The wind seems to have made the short pin positions play pretty tough. We had 14 come out for tags - with Curvin Stine taking the win in a playoff against Steve Herman at -1. Next Saturday is the first tags round of the new year! Bring your 2020 tag, and the regular $5 plus $10 for the new 2021 tag that you’ll get after the round.

Happy Holidays everyone! Baskets are now in winter pin positions! Also, in case I forget to post later, tags will be running Saturday morning, as usual. Lastly, USPS actually managed to deliver the tags blanks this week, so we will get 2021 tags on the first round of the new year (1/2/21) and you’ll get to see which design I ended up going with!

The 7th Sellersville Reindeer Games was a success! I think the switch to a skins-style main event was a definite positive change. I think we'll do it again that way next year. Congrats to team Vixen (Kevin McAndrew, Steve Forostiak, Matt Stollery, Adam McCarter) for defending their title with 87 reindeer points. Coming in second with 80 points was Team Sven (John Baird, Andy DiFronzo, Nev Woodland, Kyle Newton). Team Olive (Steve Herman, Tom Armstrong, Tommy Baldowski, Ch...ris Simon) came in third with 63 points. I have to give some huge thank you's - Curvin Stine for snowblowing the grass for the putter roller game and shoveling tee pads, Nate Faucette for shoveling tee pads, and I heard Steve Forostiak cleaned off a few this morning too. Thanks to BFred and Seth Hogan for helping measure the CTPs, and again to BFred for recording the scores and mathing them all up. There was very little waiting around today thanks to him!! And after all the fun and games - we raised $175 to give to the Sellersville Fire Dept. Great day by my measure!! The next fun extra Sellersville event will be the Superbowl Sunday battle - Feb 7th - Save the date!

NO TAGS TOMORROW 12/19! We are holding the annual reindeer games instead. I apologize to anyone who wanted to play but could not due to having to cap the event Also, the 2021 tags are stuck in the void known as the USPS, and even though they were shipped two weeks ago I’m doubtful that we will have them by the beginning of 2021. We may play into January with 2020 tags.

On the first tags round of the 2021 points season, Seth Hogan shoots -5 to take the win over 21 players! We'll see you for tags again on Saturday!

Great day for some Disc golf! 22 tagholders came out to play. Steve Forostiak takes the win, shooting a HOT -9! I have all the invites ready to go for the invitational, check the Discussions page shortly for that. Next week, 2021 points begin. (Still using 2020 tags though until January. Maybe someday I'll sync these up). Also, starting next week, new tags will be discounted to $10 ($5 for anyone who had a 2019 tag).

Tagholder Appreciation Day was a blast! 31 came out to play for a little extra cash and maybe get wet feet taking advantage of my one-time OB rule (i'm curious to know many strokes people saved by this rule??). Both Brian Offner and Anthony Zortea finished hot with -7. Brian edged out Anthony on the 2nd hole of the playoff for the $50 tags win. After some lunch, we had 5 teams compete for the kan-jam title, with Cory Snyder and Seth Hogan taking the top prize having to bea...t Josh Snyder and Adam Kotchetovsky twice in row in the finals. Then, as tradition, a 6 on 6 game of ultimate was played. Nobody got hurt and the team with the most points won! Note: Monday Dubz is sadly over until spring. Though it looks like B Fred may put together a 10 hole version with 100% payout, so if you want to get your doubles fix in, let him know over on the discussions page in the comment of the "Dubs is done" post by Dan Lackner.

Tagholders come out and be appreciated! Tomorrow morning; be there normal time (9:45), bring the normal $5. Play the regular tags round (including my OB rule change, see previous post for details) with a little more cash to win, then stick around for free burgers and dogs, hang out and/or play in the free kan jam tournament (cash payout), then round out the day with some ultimate! Always a blast!

Let's try something weird on Saturday with another way to show appreciation to our tagholders: Where water is concerned - you get to choose if the water is OB or not!!! *Want to save a stroke - GET IN THE CREEK and play it as it lies. *Don't want to get wet - take your penalty stroke and play it like regular OB. A few notes: ... -this is only for water - paths and dry OB (like fire hole) play as they always have. -Hole 15 is a weirdo - play it as though the pond actually has water all the way up to the OB line. -If you land right next to water, but not in - you choose if that water is OB and if you want to take your meter or not. -Bring extra shoes / pants if you might try to save a stroke by playing from the water! This Saturday is Tagholder appreciation day! We'll have some bigger payouts, a free lunch, a kan-jam tournament, and likely a game of ultimate frisbee to round out the day. If anyone coming out has a kan-jam set, let me know if you can bring it - the more we have the more matches we can have at once. Also, if anyone is able to lug their BBQ grill into a truck and bring it, that would be super helpful. We have a plan in case not, but if someone is able, that would be great! So far the weather for Saturday is looking good, so hopefully we'll see you there!

Weather looked kinda crappy for tags, but ended up being pretty decent! 12 came out to play, with Nick Merelli taking the win with -2. Remember - next Saturday is tagholder appreciation! Bigger payouts, free lunch, kan-jam! I have the tags points sheet set up with all the automatic invitational invited highlighted in yellow. We have two upcoming events for Sellersville Tag holders! Saturday October 3rd - Tagholder Appreciation Day. Starts at 10, regular tags time. We play tags as usual but with slightly inflated payouts. Then I grill up burgers and dogs for everyone and we have a fun Kan Jam tournament. Then Sunday October 25th will be the Sellersville Tags Invitational Tournament! This weekend I'll put out the invites for anyone who has won a tags round since last years invitational, and I'll post up the list of who could be getting in on tags points. 10/10 will be the last round to get points that count for this year. Tags yesterday brought out 22 golfers to play in the chilly wind. Adam Spier shot a -8 for the win and to take the 1 tag from Dan Lackner. See you tomorrow for Dubs, and next week for Tags!
