Serenity Salons would like to welcome Brittney Tertel to our staff. Brittany will be available on Wednesdays-Saturday at our Schuylkill Haven location. Please give her warm welcome as she begins her new career. From Brittany, I’m new in the beauty world and I’m more than excited to learn more every day. Due to current and pending snow conditions, we have decided to reschedule appointments at Serenity that were previously booked prior to 1 PM on Thursday. Your stylist/nail tech will reach out to you to reschedule that appointment and do our best to get you in before the holidays. We are excited to reopen Serenity Salons. Please be aware you may see some price changes due to extra service time and extra product needed as well as system corrections made while we were closed to make sure all services were in sync according to various services, product use and time requirement of service. All pricing in the system is updated and correct! Example: Everyone 5+ years old is required to have a shampoo with their services, no exceptions so pricing has been adj...usted accordingly. Also, because of the length of closure time, there will probably be no services such root touch ups or acrylic or gel fill (probably full sets needed) due to excessive grow out so more product will be required thus higher pricing. Of course, color correction service that will be needed if you decided to box color, could also require a more trastic increase to fix you up depending on time and products required. We will always do our best to insure you are getting the best quality for your $$ and we appreciate your understanding. See more

Serenity Salons are open effective Monday 6/22. Keep in mind that we have a limited capacity and can only have two clients per stylist in the salon at one time so please be patient as we try to squeeze everyone in as soon as possible. Welcome Serenity Baby: ILaria Marie Bonilla

Erica Marie gave birth to a healthy baby girl this afternoon. 6lb 14oz and 18 long. Both mama and baby are doing great!

WE are very sorry but until the shutdown is listed, our staff as well as all stylists in our County are not permitted to do hair or nails at their homes, your homes or at the salon. We would love to be working but do not want to jeopardize losing our licenses and a $10,000 fine. You can message us to be put on the call list when we are permitted to return to work and we will get you in asap when given the go ahead! But there is NOTHING we can do right now. Sorry!!!

SERENITY SALON REOPENING GUIDELINES & INFO (Hopefully soon) (Please comply so we can stay open when we are given the go ahead ) We are looking forward to reopening as soon as permitted so watch our Facebook pages for that announcement. We are ready and we know that you are ready! We want to thank you for your patience and loyalty. Those of you who could not wait you are forgiven and we will get you right! COVID-19 is rapidly changing and so are the rules. Here is what we ...will be doing to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff and what our requirements are in regard to clients. 1. Serious Cleaning & Intense sanitation and disinfecting of the salon will occur nightly using Microban 24hr. In addition, all touch surfaces, equipment, tools etc will be sanitized between clients as will as routine sanitizing of handles, knobs and similar touch surfaces throughout the day. Hand sanitizer will also be available at all times for use. 2. Staff temperature will be taking daily to help aide in your safety. If any of them have a temperature of 100+ they will need to go home and your appointment will have to be rescheduled (sorry). 3. Clients: If you are sick, have been around someone who is sick, been around someone who has been diagnosed with Covid -19 or is around someone currently being quarantined, you must call to cancel and reschedule your appointment. 4. MASKS ARE REQUIRED at all times for staff and clients. Other protections such as gloves & shields will be used when possible. Clients are asked to bring your own mask but if you forget we will have a limited supply for use. 5. EVERYONE must go directly to restroom and wash your hands thoroughly following the CDC hand washing guidelines regardless of prior use of hand sanitizer. Thanks for your co-operation! 6. Clients ONLY!! No friends or family members can accompany you to your appointment. If a child has an appointment, one adult may bring them. If you have multiple children, separate appointments are required to limit the number of people in the salon at one time. 7. Appointments will be limited to avoid overcrowding but we will do our best to get everyone in as soon as we can. We will start at the beginning of our cancellation lists and move forward from there. Remember, this is over 8 weeks+ of catch up that we need to do so it can not all be done in the first couple of weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

I try to avoid personal comments on our business pages but since we haven't been able to be open for 8 weeks now, I had to share this. Let me start by saying if you want to argue with me to try to promote your own agenda even though you are not in the shoes of a small business owner, scroll right on past my post! As such, I have had 8 weeks now to form my educated opinion from experience so there is no need to try to convince me otherwise. I respect the opinions of others, ...so I expect the same. I am seeing a lot of state representatives in neighboring areas reach out to Gov Wolfe to let their areas proceed to yellow phase. For those of you looking forward to going to your favorite salons (who are already preparing to abide by CDC guidelines), you will NOT be able to do so even in the yellow phase due to the Pa state restrictions. In order for us as a small business salon to open, not only will we have to wait, but unless the details regarding personal care businesses.......it is no telling when we will be open if we have to wait til GREEN!! No I am not wishing death on anyone, but we should have a choice as to whether to resume business (with precautions) and allow our clients the choice as to whether or not they would feel safe coming to our locations!! If you agree, let your local representatives know that not only do we want to go yellow BUT changes also need to be made to the personal care requirements or we will still have to wait til Green as well!!! If you choose to, please feel free to share!!

We are still awaiting the go ahead to prepare to reopen and we hope you are waiting for us too. Rest assured when we know, we will be taking every precaution possible to provide a safe environment for our staff as well as our clients. Stay tuned for specific details in the near future. We appreciate your compliance to these specific requirements when they are announced. To enable us to service you all in a timely manner while adhering to guidelines, we may be required to shuffle staffing schedules and salon locations as well. SERENITY CLIENTS: Just some info to be aware of in order to make our future reopening go more smoothly. What can CLIENTS do to help salons navigate a new 'normal' you ask? Know you were missed terribly and your stylist/nail tech/estetician is grateful for your return....... Know safety measures are being implemented for all involved. (Temperature checks, masks, disinfecting etc) Know the importance of coming alone, extra people in a salon compromises everyone. (CLIENTS ONLY)!! Know your stylist/nail tech/estetician cannot physically work 16 hour days 7 days a week, rest is essential for all.. Know your initial services will take more time and $$ in most cases. Know that coming in sick isn't an option or if someone in your home is under quarantine. Know that walk-ins will not be an option for some salons- call the salon before you leave home. Know that rescheduling hundreds of clients will take time... Know that when you arrive, if you would prefer to wait in your car we can text you when we are ready for you. Know that your stylist/nail tech/estetician is thrilled to see you but doesn't want or need a hug, your presence & business is the best hug ever. Know that your health is the biggest concern. Know your stylist/nail tech/estetician has already lost thousands of and has no desire to replace it with a ventilator for either of you, be patient. Know that if your health is already high risk, you need to wait, your health is more important.. Know that a 'soft opening ' will be anything but soft. Know that your opinion of the entire situation won't change laws and rules necessary for everyone's safety are, keep the conversation to hair and how we can make you beautiful Know that while trying to connect with your stylist/nail tech/estetician, there are hundreds of others attempting the same thing, responses will be slow coming as your stylist is preparing everything and answering everyone simultaneously Know, above all else, no one is more excited about your arrival than your stylist/nail tech- help make it the best appointment ever!!! Together we can make this work safely for all HOPE TO SEE YOU WHEN WE CAN REOPEN BUT WATCH FOR THAT ANNOUNCEMENT AND FURTHER REQUIREMENTS!

A letter to our valued customers/ friends, Right now our country is in a trying time , everyone is stir crazy , and we are right there with you ! We all look rough with our greys growing out , our hair way overdue for a cut , and to top it off it won’t even style correct ! We get you ! I was offered $500 from an essential worker to do her color and cut , (man is that temping ) but not worth it ! Here is why ; we are not essential, contact with one infected person can spr...ead to many more including venerable people in our homes . Is it worth us sneaking that one person in here and there , no it’s not !! On top of that our salon and stylists license can be revoked for doing so ! Here at Serenity it’s been 12 yrs that we opened our doors and we can’t risk losing a license while not following the governor’s orders ! Believe us we can’t wait to work , but it will be when the time is right and the doctors and scientists will guide people when the time is right ! Please understand we are in a hard place , we are so used to getting clients in to make them feel & look good . When we opened our salons we promised a very clean atmosphere, above normal sanitary conditions and a safe, happy work place for our Serenity Team ! We love and miss all you and we will get through this together , and I’m sure real soon we will get to see you all ! Serenity clients: if you are interested in professional root touch up to get you through this pandemic, let me know by Sunday which color you would like me to order for you. $30 each and we can arrange payment and porch pick up. There are limited colors so you would have to just pick which is closest to what ever your current hair color is. I will print direction for use with each purchase.

I know your roots are bad, I know your hair will be too long and you won't feel like yourself. We would love to go back to work but We can't, our industry can't. When you ask us what kind of color you will need and buy that store box color just remember your putting money into the big companies pocket while we small ones are suffering. There is no way to make income from our industry right now since we are hands on. When we can come back, please remember us and please don't ...blame us if we need to fix your hair and it will cost more. Not only do we miss our income but we miss you. Our chats, laughter, tears, we share so much more than just a haircut. We are standing here united to stay safe but inside we are worried and stressed about our work being completely torn from us. Kudos to the "non-essential" businesses who heeded the shutdown advise to help lessen the spread of Coronavirus. Just like all small businesses, it was a hard decision to make because we ALL have bills to pay, but it is in the best interest of the community which includes all of our clients. If you haven' already closed, maybe you should reconsider because the life you save may be your family member or friend! Just saying!!
