There she is, my new hunting bow. Black walnut crotch and G10 riser, black locust cores. Fence line walnut and spalted maple spliced veneers. Hickory heartwood overlays. 58 lb 58" centershot with thumb rest.

Most folks know what arrows they're shooting, their rig ready for weeks. I on the other hand am just fixin to glue up my own new bow. Orders all wrapped up. Her bow is done and arrows are made. TBT to my first ever traditional deer opening day 2012 York County Pennsylvania. Finished this 56" Sika this evening for my wife. She wanted a new one "heavy enough to hunt with" I know she's got it in her, we all do. Pecan riser, maple core, etimoe veneers. Throw back Thursday to Thursday October 18, 2012. (My wife's birthday) when I smoked this doe at 8 steps with a doug fir shaft a made from old 2x4s. Fletched with a jig I made from the clip off an old clipboard. Just a guy who got tired of hunting with a compound and got after it. #ihuntclose #dougfirshafts #zwickeybroadheads

One great thing about shooting a trad bow is what I just did here at 545 AM this morning. I felt the string nock and snapped the arrow into place by feel of the nock indicator. I could hardly see the outline of the deer. At 12 yards I drew to anchor and imagined on that black blob where low vitals were. Enough said! #shootemclose #stickbow

I have my wife's bow ready to glue up. Once I complete hers I plan on building myself a new bow and then work at some stock bows at my own convenience. Sorry to those who I have turned down but I have to live life. I hunt too. Time to spend my evenings with my wife and kid, the soon to be here little one. Also I need to be shooting and scouting.
