Some things important to her include: going to the gym, eating healthy, family, and her routine. Things she would like assistance with would be: physically... assist her when walking, giving her reminders to not reveal to much information to strangers, allowing her to take her time when doing an activity, assisting her with traffic safety, assisting her in getting on and off of machines at the YMCA when necessary, being patient, and helping her to feel empowered to speak up for herself and make decisions on her own. Successful applicant would live with her in a gorgeous first floor condominium in Warminster with pool, fitness club, while receiving generous monthly stipend. Applicant would receive respite also. The intellectual disability community has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the pandemic is far from over. We need state representatives to take seriously the issues of obtaining PPE to keep our Direct Support Professionals safe, providing safe activities for our individuals, and livable wages for our Direct Support Professionals, who have worked tirelessly to support our individuals throughout the pandemic.
