Anyone remember Weiss's Apparel? .. it was at 21 S. Main Shenandoah... It was run by Reuben Kutler and his wife Fanny nee Weiss for at least 15 years beginning in 1937. They were entrepreneurs.. opened another store in Shamokin by 1939. It was a major Main Street operation with full page ads in the Heralds of the day. My 1957 birth has no recollection.. but some may still recall it? Add to the thread if you can. Relatives are researching and would like to know more about their family legacy here in town.

A final post for today... do you know any of these bathing beauties... not a pic from the 1920's, but from our 1966 Centennial. They were known as the Martin Belles, most likely a Garment Factory group of ladies with the Centennial Spirit.

Can you help us solve a mystery? The now defunct Methodist Church of William Penn has graciously donated a lot of its remaining items to the GSAHS. Monogrammed dishes from Ladies Socials and some other items. One unique item is an embossing seal which is from the church... but, along with the William Penn ID, seems to be wording in Lithuanian? ! ? Have a look at the embossed area left from the seal ... does anyone have any idea how the Lithuanian Words which seem to translate of Bishop Valenciaus Drive A. S. L. R. A. have any connection to the church.
