Today is our IHM "Ministry Monday." Our Lady of Grace Montessori School and Spiritual Center located in Manhasset, NY, are treasured sponsored ministries of the Sisters of IHM. For more than fifty years Our Lady of Grace Montessori School has been educating children in the Catholic tradition and according to the philosophy and methodology of Maria Montessori. The Spiritual Center offers a variety of programs designed to assist people in developing their person, profession, and spirituality. The beauty of the surroundings and the charm of the estate place the guest in a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere that encourages spiritual, psychological, and physical renewal. Visit our website to learn more about our school, programs, and retreats at Our Lady of Grace: https://www.olgretreat.com #ihmministrymonday

What about us? What voices do we long to hear? What hands do we yearn to hold again? Which of the holy ones who have walked among us and who now live in glory in risen life would we give anything to see and hear again, even if for just one more time? Chris Koellhoffer, IHM

Today is our IHM "Sister Saturday." Today's post features our Sister Anna Tantsits. In 1957 she entered the Sisters of Christian Charity who taught her in high school and with them served as a primary teacher in NJ, MD, and PA. Sister Anna met the IHM Sisters in Williamsport and Pittston and in 1976 she transferred into the IHM Community. She began her IHM ministry in PA, NJ, and NY, as a primary teacher, then a parish DRE, and Director of Adult Faith Formation and Evangel...ization for the Albany Diocese. From 1995 till the present she has lived in the Diocese of Albany where she co-founded Bethany Ministries with Friar Peter Chepaitis, OFM. They have done parish missions and retreats together in the US and Canada, many in places at the invitation of IHM Sisters. During the Covid-19 pandemic they have continued their ministry through their weekly contemplative prayer meeting (some attend by phone), monthly Franciscan Spirituality Group, attending Black Life Matters rallies, ecumenical events, and assisting in local parishes. Sister Anna also continues her ministry of preaching for the IHM mission in Sicuani, Peru. See more

Today is our IHM "Ministry Monday." The IHM Congregation affirms sponsorship as a ministry of the congregation and consistently invites members to participate in the life of our sponsored and cosponsored works. In doing so, the IHM Congregation continues to share our IHM charism, core values, and our mission -- to serve the people of God. Appointed to the Marywood University Board of Trustees were Sister Mary Ann Cody, Sister Kelly Quinn, Sister Mary Elaine Anderson, and Sister Kathleen Lunsmann. Thank you sisters for your board service at Marywood University -- our IHM sponsored ministry for more than 105 years. #ihmministrymonday

Today is our IHM "Sister Saturday." Today’s post features Sister Jane Snyder. Jane comes from St. Patrick’s Parish in West Scranton. Over the course of her time in ministry, she has been a junior high teacher, a school principal and a member of the IHM Leadership Team. Jane currently ministers at Marywood University in the Office of Retention Advising. Her life has taken her along the Atlantic seaboard from Connecticut through New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Delaware ...and back to Scranton. She cannot remember a time she didn’t live in a community. She and her 4 sisters and 4 brothers were shepherded to adulthood by her loving parents, Jane and Jim. Indeed, she said she hasn’t found many pictures that are just her alone. The smaller committees/communities that are included in the attached photos reflect everything from family to the Great Spirit Mission Circle to the OSP IHM Healing Racism Committee to her Circle of Grace. A current focus in her life is the work of racial justice in our country. A favorite quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, is The arc of the moral universe is long, but it always bends toward justice. #ihmsistersaturday See more
