If you are looking for a powerful spiritual experience (albeit virtually), this would be well worth it!

Please join us for Mass today on the Third Sunday of Advent -- Gaudete (Rejoicing) Sunday. Amid the turmoil of life, there is an inner peace and strength that actually allows us to rejoice. What is the secret? God the Father truly loves YOU with a perfect personal love. And He sent His Son, Jesus, to prove it. God bless you. And here's your Sunday bulletin: http://www.stjosephdanville.org/Content/Uploads/1213112A.pdf

Jesus gave us His Father as our Father. It only makes sense that He would complete the family and give us His mother as our mother too. Especially in moments of trial and despair, we all need a motherly love to comfort us. Happy feast day of Mother Mary, under her miraculous title of Our Lady of Guadalupe!

On December 10th, the Governor issued new directives to combat the spread of COVID-19. It has been made clear that these do not apply to worship in churches. Therefore, we have been instructed by the Diocese to continue with our strict safety protocols of masking, distancing, and sanitization, among others, when celebrating Mass, the sacraments, and other liturgies. As a reminder of already-existing guidance here at St. Joseph's, if you have a compromised immune system, or ...are considered more vulnerable, you are encouraged to remain home at this time. The dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass is still in place. We will continue uploading Sunday Masses to our YouTube channel, and these Masses also continue to be available on Thursdays at 1 pm on SECV Channel 8 on your TV. Of course, everyone is still welcome here at St. Joseph's. And we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe as we worship God, and receive His grace, which we need so much. At the same time, as a change in policy, given these new restrictions from the Governor, the Diocese is advising us to postpone all indoor meetings until at least January 4th. While an exemption is given to churches for worship, it is prudent for us to follow the directives for other situations at our parish. Therefore, until further notice, there will be no meetings of groups in person of more than 10 people at St. Joseph's. If you have further questions, or would like clarification, please don't hesitate to be in touch with Fr. Marcoe. Thank you.

Perhaps you’ve heard that Pope Francis recently announced a Year of St. Joseph. That day, December 8th, was the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being declared as the patron saint of the Universal Church. And providentially, we here at St. Joseph Parish just finished celebrating the 150th anniversary of the dedication of our current parish church too! In making his declaration, Pope Francis said the coronavirus pandemic has heightened his desire to reflect on St. Joseph, a...s so many people during the pandemic have made hidden sacrifices to protect others, just as St. Joseph quietly protected and cared for Mary and Jesus. He also said he wanted to highlight St. Joseph’s role as a father who served his family with charity and humility, adding, Our world today needs fathers. This Year of St. Joseph continues until December 8, 2021. And we will find special ways to enjoy the graces of this year here at St. Joseph Parish. https://www.catholicnews.com/pope-proclaims-year-dedicated/

If you haven't seen our new garden area, statue platform, and refinished Jesus statue, now is a good time to stop or drive by! The Knights of Columbus set up th...e manger seen in front of our school just like they do every year. Thank you very much to the Danville Chapter of the Knights for doing this every year. Also a special thanks goes out to Steve Warriner, TJ Willoughby, Rick Manard, and Duane, Luke, and Mark Hilkert for the new platform!
