Skate Station 10.01.2021

We really hope everyone had a safe and healthy holiday with there loved ones. We haven’t posted for awhile because we keep going back and fourth with setting a date to open to the public with a limited number to being shut down again. We would rather everyone be safe and healthy over anything. We will be here, we are not going anywhere. Keep those skates clean and ready cause the New Year hopefully will bring some hope for us all and get us rolling again. We are so excited fo...r the public to see how great the rink looks and try out that new floor!! So we are waiting to see what January brings and if we can at least open with a very limited number of customers. On this note the rink is completely done with what we wanted to get done and ready for use. This summer we will finish up the outside. We can’t wait to see everyone again and we are hoping it’s soon. The rink turned out way better then we expected and looks amazing I wanted to make a video and post it of a walk thru but I didn’t want to ruin the initial WOW We will see how it goes. See more

Update: This picture and the color is just beautiful. I wanted to share. The new LED lighting is almost completed and I must say WOW!! We have to re-hang the speakers and set them again. We are also in the process of putting our new kitchen in and starting to go over the skates to make sure they are in good shape and ready to roll. We will have another update on this Wednesday or Thursday with more photos.

Saturday was a great turn out! So much support and people enjoying the rink again. The best part was seeing everyone again!! Most important is the respect the customers had for the covid rules for the rink. They are in place so we can be safe and be open to the public. I hope customers understand:) We will be Open again this Wednesday 7-9!! We have the rest of our skate floor lights going in this Friday evening!... Also working on a few other things we thought of:) See more

Update: We are not open yet:( We are finishing up carpet this weekend and getting the install of the lighting on the floor started. Then it will take a week to deep clean the building and go over all the rental skates. We have to also make sure all of our COVID restrictions are set up and places where they need to be. We are hoping there won’t be another complete shut down. I know they set heavy restrictions again for indoor gathering. With the spike in case it is scary and ...we have to be safe for us and the customers. We are trying to do this the right way so everyone can stay safe. It has been hard decisions all the way to this point. We want to open as soon as we can, we may have to do a slow reopening so we get the feel of dealing with COVID and allowing us proper cleaning times. We also have to get used to basically a new rink cause a lot will be different. Down to the new lighting and music and also the new expanded kitchen area. It’s a lot to get used to while trying to deal with the covid policies. Do not worry we will be open soon, the restrictions are super tight thru the holiday so we will have to remain closed until after Thanksgiving. This will also allow us to fine tune and get all the small stuff done that we need to do to ensure a good reopening of the rink. We are so excited and want it to be perfect! The many different contractors that are doing different jobs there, say they can’t even believe what the rink looks like now, they are blown away. There are a few things I didn’t get to do but we will be doing over next summer while we are open. The wish list for next summer is: Some more blacktop and taking it out to the main road. Doing new metal on the front and side to match the back, so the building will be a slate color. Getting the tall post light up sign that faces towards 879 to be seen on both sides. We are trying to get our outside lighting redone soon. And I’m hoping sooner then later to be able to do updated new seating in the snackbar area that is my biggest thing that is bothering me lol. **We are just trying to be smart and safe on our reopening and follow the guidelines, I do not want people to feel unsafe or feel we are not doing our part to contain COVID in the facility. Believe me they are some hard hard decisions and always getting pulled in two directions. This shut down and remodel and time away from some great friends and customers and some great kids has made me realize how much I do love that place and miss it like crazy! I also care much others feel about the rink and how they feel when they are there and how the rink will forever be a part of their lives and their kids lives. I just can’t want to get things rollin again!!! See more

Ok so the post everyone has been waiting for...... While taking time talking to several other rinks about there capacity and their covid rules, in turn hearing from them expressing that they are busy and everyone is being safe so they can have fun!! This post took me awhile cause I was one of the ones scared to open and worried people would not follow the covid rules in place to keep others safe. We decided we are finally going to open our doors at 50% capacity starting this... Saturday, January 9th from 7-10 PM. Sorry for the late post but this was a very hard decision for me. I am both excited and nervous and I hope all goes well. We will be open: Saturday’s 7-10 & Wednesday’s 7-9 Only No 2-4 yet on weekends. We are still doing private parties only-No open skate parties. We have put a lot of time and money into the rink. Our prices in the kitchen are the same and skate rental is still $2.00 However we did raise admission but barely, so people could still afford to do what they love and come as much as they want. No surprises. Besides the people who need to rent skates, Admissions are as follows: Wednesday’s are only $2.00 admission Saturday’s are only $7.00 admission Family deals are $30.00 We choose Not to raise prices high:) Now most important the covid rules (I followed most other rinks) - 50% capacity - temp checks at the door - if u are sick or around anyone who is sick or was sick please stay home until well - wash & sanitize hands frequently - be respectful and try to keep distant from others - cover you mouth if you have a sneeze (Masks Policy) You have to wear a mask when entering the building to pay and get skates. You have to wear your mask in the lobby when crowd gathering. You do not have to wear your mask on the skate floor or while eating and drinking while in snack bar area. Please be respectful of others and the way they feel about Covid. You can be made to leave if you are sick or being disrespectful to others over the Covid rules. These rules are in place so we can be open and have fun and be safe!! We can’t hardly wait to open our doors in less than 24 hours to the public and let the music play!! See more

This New Years won’t be the same with not seeing all of our wonderful caring customers, but we do have something getting worked out to get the public back to skating. But please keep in mind we will have to be at a very limited capacity to start out with our public skate. I’m hoping it will only last January maybe into February before we can open in full capacity. Please understand, I know some businesses are open and by right I could be too, but I feel health and safety are ...what’s held me back for so long. I do not want to be the reason anyone gets sick and I want people still to be able to skate. I had a lot of unfortunate events that happened in my life also, that has held me back from opening with a full capacity. I can honestly say I can’t wait to see everyone and see them having fun again! I have been watching videos and looking at photos from when we were open and it really pushes me to open. The rink is so beautiful and it deserves people to see it and I love that place Be safe and stay healthy and we will see you soon!! We will be posting this coming week of our public opening and the limits and how we will move forward after that. This is a huge step for us! Keep in mind we are doing private parties and only private will be offered until we get opened to full capacity to keep everything safe and better controlled. Remember it doesn’t have to be a party, you can get together a big group of family and friends and have a private 2 hour skate if that makes you feel even safer:):) See You Soon!!!

Update: Carpet install has started this past weekend and will take about a full week to do complete install. We ran into a problem in the gameroom and had to put a brand new subfloor in there. We have the epoxy floor guy coming to freshen up the bathroom floors and epoxy old skate return area. We also are working on our conversion to a new stainless steel kitchen area. Saturday we will be starting the new skate floor lighting install that will take a few days. And yes my husb...and installed 2 central vac units to keep it all clean and safe! We will be adding some updated items in the snackbar. This all was a lot of time and work and I am thankful that everyone is being so patient and kind:) we really love our customers and can’t wait to see all of them. It’s the people that come to the rink that makes it what it is so you can thank yourself also for doing your part:) See more

Update: It’s getting closer to our opening!! We are so excited but at the same time we want everyone to be safe. However masks will be optional for customers but not workers till we get the okay. Some fell safe wearing a mask others do not like to and some care about others and wear one for them. You can wash and sanitize your hands during your time at the rink, these items are available to everyone. The sanitizing areas are not toys they are for safety. We do ask if you are ...sick at all or have been around anyone please stay home so no one gets sick. In the dinning and snack bar area we ask when you are done at a table please throw your stuff away so we can clean the table for the next guest. We will be cleaning throughout and in between openings. Please be patient with us when we open, there are some new things that we as well have to learn, like new lighting controls and some music programs. Plus we will be trying to maintain a clean safe environment due to covid and the upcoming flu season. I want to be safe and I want everyone else to be safe that is most important to us! I would also like to include that we have given a lot of time and money to the building and the remodeling, we love that place, and we want it to be a better place for everyone and stay in the community! We ask that you respect and take care of the building and our new skate floor as if it was your own:) With saying that we will be opening the third week of November, not sure on an exact day yet, that will be coming soon!! I will say we started booking parties and are booking up fairly fast. If you plan on booking please let us know early! We also have a brand new website we had created for the rink and is up to date. You can also book on there! www.skatestationclearfield.com Go check it out!! We may be starting our monthly calendar with extra skating days in December. We also had a customized designed logo done for the rink and it will be getting attached to the website, as well as other things. We decided to have our logo painted by an artist out of Wexford on our new skate floor and it looks better then we imagined. Below are some photos of basically a whole new back of the rink building and the front face lift. And yes a photo of our floor with the logo. I couldn’t keep that as a surprise:):) We also will have a post tomorrow for our special we are doing on Halloween. So stay posted and aware!! It’s exciting!! See more
