The Wreaths Across America event that was scheduled for December 19th, 2020 at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua has been canceled as a result of the shutdown o...rder issued by Governor Wolf on December 10th. Sky View’s Board of Directors has arranged for the cemetery staff to distribute the wreaths on the resting places of veterans as they arrive from WAA headquarters in Maine. Our thoughts go to all of the people who were so enthusiastic to participate, the sponsors who were so generous with donations, and the circle of volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes preparing for the event. After months of planning, know that we share your disappointment. Again, every veteran at Sky View will still be honored with a wreath, and the cemetery is encouraging visitors to come and see the completed project as early as December 21st. Our prayer is that you remain safe and have a pleasant holiday season.

I want to thank the gentlemen who were at Skyview this morning getting ready for December 19. My husband and I drive up from Maryland every year at this time t...o put Christmas greens on my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles graves. When we pulled in , I said I wondered if they were the Wreaths Across America team, as I had donated a few weeks ago. And they were ! We introduced ourselves and they shared their time and enthusiasm for the event. I am so thankful that there are volunteers to honor our vets, it means so much to the families to have their loved ones honored. See more

We're near our goal!! Thanks to an extremely generous $10,000 donation by an anonymous donor, we now have 2,941 wreaths sponsored for the 3,464 veterans at Sky ...View Memorial Park. Help push us over the top so that the resting place of every serviceman and servicewoman at Sky View is adorned with a memorial wreath the first time that WAA came to Tamaqua. Friday, November 19th is the last day to sponsor by check, and November 30th is the last day to sponsor through the web site. All this on the day that the one-month countdown for the event on December 19th begins! See more
