Slatington Bowling Center 10.01.2021

Hi everyone, first I would like to thank everyone who has supported Slatington Bowling Center. So many people have bowled there since the early 60s. We have met so many kind people and new friends through the years. This year has been hard on all of us. Small businesses have taken the brunt of all the closers. We have been closed for about 5 months through the past year. We where forced to make many difficult choices in regards to how to keep operating. Over the summer it bec...ame obvious that revenues where not going to cover the expenses and leagues where not going to return. In September we entered into a contract to sell the property. We recently have closed on that deal. The Liquor license as been sold. I have entered into a lease agreement to try and let the leagues finish their schedules. Many leagues bowlers have stopped bowling because of the virus and revenues are not covering expenses. As of now, we will try to stay open until April but if conditions worsen we will close our doors sooner, I will keep everyone informed if there are any changes. Closing bowling centers is not what we do. We always had the intention to keep operating but in the end we could not see our way though all of this. I hope all of you will continue to bowl in the future. Thank you all! Bill Reese See more

We will be closed Saturday December 12, through January 3. We will reopen Monday January 4, as per Governor Wolf. We ask all leagues to continue their current s...chedule. We as many other bowling centers are struggling. We will now enter our 5th month of being closed in 2020. Our bills during the closures cost about $30,000 a month to maintain our 4 centers. Difficult times to say the least. I am hoping the the entire bowling industry will recover somehow. No doubt it will take years and many won't make it. The Lehigh Valley has already lost half of its centers. We need leagues to try to complete their schedules. If we are closed for months we will work something out with schedules. Today, we already had a call to shorten a league schedule. Somehow, we will get though all of this. Hopefully the spring will bring us some normalcy. Thank you all for choosing one of our centers to bowl. Looking forward to the future. See you all soon. Stay safe and healthy! Bill Reese See more

It is with a heavy heart this morning that I have to tell everyone that our friend and coworker Jack Chandler has passed away. We all have no words to describe how we feel. Our thoughts and prays are with Loretta and Jack's family. Rest in peace my friend.

Hi everyone, these are difficult times. Sorry to say we have a case of Covid. To protect bowlers and staff members we will remain closed this week so we can disinfect and have employees tested. If all goes well, we should reopen Saturday November 14. We will let everyone know if anything changes. Bill Reese Slatington Bowling Center

Just to make it official for the bowling league managed by the house. The Mountaineers Mixed league on Tuesday night and the Fri Nite No-Tap League seasons are finished with the current standing as the second half winner. Financial reports and pin money will be mailed out to all members in about a week. The Tuesday Seniors league is also finished with the party and funds being held until we can meet again. The Thursday Nite Owls league reports and funds were release...d today to the league president for distribution. The Saturday Juniors are finished and we'll try to get together for a final session sometime after we reopened. Pleae share or relay information to those in the leagues that may not be on facebook. Be safe and eventually we will get back to complaining about the 10 pins and the lane conditions and all that other goood stuff we all miss. Paul See more

Hi Everyone, First, I hope everyone in our bowling family is safe and well. I have know many of you for nearly 45 years. It has been a tough road. Any business ...that is forced to close for any reason can only last a short amount of time without a cash infushion. We have been able to sustain all our locations so far. We applied for federal diaster relief and have been approved at all our locations. Thats good news but we haven't recieved any funds yet. Also, 75% of all funds must be used for payroll. We must use those funds within eight weeks of recieving them. So, what do you do when you are ordered to stay closed by the goverment and only have eight weeks to use the funds? It looks like the earliest we will open will be sometime in late May or June. Thats just a guess. We are releasing all leagues from their contracts. If any league would like to bowl a week or 2 they are welcome to. We will meet with the Friday Trio at Blue Valley as soon as we open to dicuss how to end the season. Please stay safe and healthy.
