Important update for our employees: As most of you are aware, we have been told we are essential and life-sustaining! That means all our employees who are not excused specifically for COVID-19 reasons are needed to continue working to supply several essential projects. So for those employees unable to work after April 1st due to certain specific COVID-19 reasons, we have just published a 2-page company guideline explaining what you must provide to us as documentation in orde...r to qualify for coronavirus related emergency income. Planning around all the new and updated information as it arrives has made our work schedule quite a challenge. We have already started calling some people back to work this week; by the end of the week all of our employees will be called by Ken as to the if and when being recalled. For all intents and purposes, the current temporary lay-off will be over by next Monday, March 30th. Employees: if you have not already been contacted by Thursday afternoon, please call in to Ken... Eck on Friday morning to verify your status for the week of March 30th. Employees: Also worth noting if you are being recalled and refuse to return to work, that is your right, you may do so. But by Monday 3/30, if you are not within the CDC protocol as a person under investigation, a presumptive positive, or a laboratory-confirmed case with COVID-19, you will not be able to continue unemployment compensation benefits due to this week's temporary layoff. J&R Slaw Inc. has confirmed our company, as well as our sand and stone suppliers, have been cleared to continue production and shipment to "life-sustaining" projects involving power & utility companies, rail transportation authorities, and other similarly essential/critical work. We are assembling a list of projects we are obligated to complete under the Governor's directives right now, and will soon know how many people we would need to return to work. Via phone calls to be ...made tomorrow (Tuesday), we will be asking a limited number of our employees to volunteer to return to work. We are now planning to remain operational under the Governor’s proclamation of emergency and issued guidance. However, to balance customers’ essential needs with the safety of our employees, we will be operating with a reduced staff and intend to only supply our customers according to essential and critical demand. We are asking all our customers to supply us with any written notification of critical need they may have, including correspondence from any state or local authority evidencing the same, so we can properly schedule our workforce to place product where it is most needed.
