SmartKids Child Care & Learning Center-Washington 30.10.2020

SmartKids began in 1996 and is privately owned. The business was started by Donna Shriver, who saw a need for quality child care in Washington County and believ...es childhood is a time of real value. SmartKids began with the idea that it is essential for every child to have exposure to quality early learning in a developmentally appropriate setting. Our centers are devoted to serving children and their families with qualified early learning staff. SmartKids is a Pennsylvania State licensed child care and learning organization that has been rated 4 STARS by the Keystone STARS Program. We have also obtained certification through Nature Explore for our outdoor nature play space. Our teachers are passionate about the intellectual and emotional development of children, and we are currently in search of an equally passionate and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our child care team. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for maintaining a positive and appropriate educational environment and creating a program that meets the intellectual and emotional needs of all of our children. The successful candidate will work closely with the Educational Director to ensure our program provides education, physical health, emotional well-being, and parental involvement services to all enrolled students. Pass the PA Criminal History, FBI Criminal History and Child Abuse checks Obtain health assessment (bi-yearly) and TB Test Complete PA Mandated Reporting Training Responsibilities: Prepares a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing which permits the child to grow and explore (including disinfecting toys, clean up after meals and snacks, and ongoing bathroom checks). Uses appropriate and positive discipline. Plans and implements lessons based on the development of each child. Authentically assesses each child by creating portfolios, using developmentally appropriate checklists, writing anecdotal notes and holding parent conferences. Maintains all records and files. Establishes and maintains professional communications and relationships with parents through monthly newsletters, classroom journal, posted lesson plans, parent/teacher conferences and notes. Works cooperatively with others by exchanging ideas, attending staff meetings and attending other school events. Prepares materials needed in the classroom (lesson plans, monthly newsletter, student portfolios) Maintains professional development by attending workshops and training, reading professional literature, and setting and implementing professional goals.
