Good morning, Folks! Welp, today is the last Monday of 2020. What a year! Do you still use a physical calendar to organize your plans and goals????? Typically, this is the time of year when people begin to make plans and goals for the incoming year. ... No, not new years resolutions, but the continuation of old goals and the creation of new goals to accomplish. As for me, I usually purchase a new calendar. Some of you use electronic calendars on your phone/IPad, etc, but I still enjoy using a good ole' physical calendar along with my phone set reminders to organize my life..lol. Using a physical calendar offers me a feeling of control. Its my "to do list" journal. I can check things off and feel accomplished to see all that I have completed. Self-confidence is an attitude of being secure within yourself. Believing in your skills and talentstask-oriented self-assessment. Self-esteem encompasses the positive and negative narratives we have about ourselves, personal worth, and our emotional states. Our internal compass of self-love. Many use these two constructs interchangeably, and some believe these two terms function independently of each other. I believe these constructs are interconnected. In other words, i...mproving your self-confidence has the capacity to heighten your self-esteem and vice versa. There are various ways an individual can improve their self-confidence and self-esteem. However, many of our issues around esteem and confidence may be deeply rooted in painful experiences. Therefore, seeing a therapist to help in your growth could be beneficial. Generally speaking, here are three known concepts to help cultivate individual steps towards growth in both areas. Change your mindset: Reflect on your negative narratives and fears that are undermining your growth. How are these self-defeating thoughts serving you? Replace thoughts with a positive narrative of your personal strengths and characteristics. Behavior Change: Create goals for the behaviors you want to change. Create a self-care plan of ways to enhance the way you care and love yourself. Your emotional , mental , and physical health is your wealth . Take Action: Implement your goal plan(s) to work towards change. Consistent baby steps will help goals feel achievable. Remember, change is a processpractice self-compassion. Expect and make room for mistakes. You are human.
