You are never too old to teach. Jean Benson, a long time member of South Arts, is 103 years young and continues to teach tole painting to a loyal group of painters. Tole painting is usually done in oils on wood and metal using botanicals and fruit designs. She has painted furniture, walls, trays, mailboxes and even a shovel. Jean claims she is Not teaching but helping. Jean teaches her class at the beautifully renovated Schoolhouse Art & History Center, in the old Bethel Park high school built in 1905.

Painting with Wendy Mackin class at the Schoolhouse starts next Friday April 1. For more information and to register please visit www.southartspittsburgh.org/classes/

South Arts, along with other local Pittsburgh art organizations, will exhibit original 2-dimensional works by its members next Friday at the Galleria of Mt. Lebanon mall. South Arts members will display original acrylic and oil paintings, photography prints, watercolor, pastel, digital art, and even mixed media! All pieces will be available to purchase.
