Centering shared experience, truth and resolution, the Black Visionary Conference is a Virtual Speak Out against oppression and injustice, by those most marginalized. It is a platform of advocacy and education around issues and experiences that uniquely affect Black marginalized individuals and communities. Providing real answers and solutions to an array of issues, such as anti-Blackness, Gentrification, Ableism, Toxic Masculinity, Patriarchy, Yt Supremacy, Cis-privilege, and Black Mental Health & Wellness, The Black Visionary Conference demands revolutionary responses to oppression and injustice, rather than expedient, easy or selfish responses. Panelists include Megos, founder of Cafe Unwind; Madelyn Morrison, activist and youth mentor, and Christian Lovehall, artist, entrepreneur and facilitator of TMAN, along with several other Black Visionaries from across the country. The event is divided into 3 intentionally named discussion panels: Feb 26th- The Non-Profit Industrial Complex: Keeping the Marginalized...Marginalized, Feb 27th- Tryna Make A Dollar Outta 15 Cent: The Importance of Buying Black, and Feb 28th- Liberation and Revolution: Black Power is Real Power. Moderated by Shaniece Powell, co-owner of Frootfly LLC, the conference comes at a time when speaking truth to power is important, necessary and urgent. "The Black Visionary Conference was organized because we are currently celebrating Black History Month. However, everything we're 'celebrating' in this month is everything we're still enduring to this very day. We cannot celebrate something we have NOT overcome.
