56 hours of training delivered simultaneously across three tracks, 55 happy attendees - despite [gestures wildly at everything], this year's edition of Spitz Institute, our annual training and professional development event, was among our most successful! We're especially delighted that we're able to provide all attendees with recordings to refer back to. A sampling of the (anonymously collected) raves from our after-event survey:... New show in production.

The doors may be closed, for now, but the mission continues. We're helping SciDome sites continue educating and enriching their students and communities in many ways, including through home-viewable adaptations of planetarium shows, like the ones run by Reading Public Museum.

"Of all the times I've sat in the seat, I never ever imagined I would be doing this" - 18-year-old Abby Bollenbach, on writing and narrating a full planetarium show about Cassini-Huygens. The show was produced usiing the Spitz SciDome system at Jenks Planetarium.

We’re happy to share that the team acquiring E&S and Spitz is a passionate supporter of planetariums. Great to see more kids getting hands-on with SciDome! These Port Chester Middle School students are putting the power of the planetarium behind upcoming presentations in the Astro Coding Club.

Another shuttered planetarium resurrected as a multi-curricular learning space, as Allentown's Louis E. Dieruff High School opens their SciDome-powered "Learning Dome." Our onsite demonstration helped community leaders see the potential and value of revitalizing this unique existing space with modern educator's tools. Every summer, dozens of SciDome operators (and others who are thinking about joining the SciDome family) descend upon Spitz for one or two weeks of intensive training. it's a ton of work to put on, but it's come to be the event we look forward to the most - it's incredibly energizing to watch this community learn from us and learn from each other, and what we learn from them in the process is irreplaceable.

Teaching bigger: at Spitz Institute, Framingham State University's Mary MacDonald shows other SciDome operators how to use GIS data in The Layered Earth, in this case to map the spread of malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. Digital technology brings literal worlds of possibilities to dome education!
