Split Stage Productions 07.11.2020

It was Spring 2011 when Rob Jessup walked into Apple Hill Playhouse for their Summer season auditions not knowing a single person involved in the community theatre scene. As he was leaving the building that day, one of the directors caught him at the door and offered him a role in his three-person show. That director was Nate Newell. Nate and Rob worked together on two shows that season and before that summer was over, were already discussing the potential for a new company in the area. Simply put, without Apple Hill Playhouse, there is no Split Stage Productions. We will cherish the memories of the two productions SSP mounted at AHP, Carrie and Side Show, and be forever grateful for the legacy AHP leaves for us all.

Welp, COVID-19 got us too! After much thought and consideration, we have decided to postpone our 2020-2021 Season. We have been in contact with the licensing companies, and it is our plan to present the same three productions during our 2021-2022 Season which will begin in July ‘21. Many are saying, This is just intermission, but for us, That was just the overture. Make NO mistake: We will be back! In the meantime, love one another. Be kind to one another. Be safe. And don’t take any sh!t from anybody.

Chilling words from an integral member of our Split Stage family. Theatre is for EVERYONE and we strive to create a safe space for those who create it as well as enjoy it. Hate has no place in this company nor should it in our community or this world. PEACE and LOVE!! #blacklivesmatter
