I got a copy of this photo as a gift for Christmas. It was taken in 1987. When you look close, it appears to be lawn mowing day. It looks like Pop is beside the barn with the riding mower and Grammy is along the sidewalk with a push mower. Take note to the size of the garden!! They were serious about them back then! I had found a website called Vintage Aerial a while ago and was searching around and actually came across a picture of the farm. It isn’t as old as I was hoping to find but neat nonetheless. I had considered getting a print but I got it as a gift first.

I changed out an old gate for a new one today. The old one was hinged on the right side and only would open into the barn. It also had the bottom rung broken off making a space tempting for cattle to try to get out under the gate. I got the new gate at a welding shop in Elimsport and it is way heavier than any other gate you will find as it is made with schedule 40 pipe not just tubing, AKA Indestructible!!! The new one is hinged on the left and can open either in or out and is secured with a slam latch so it will make opening and closing the gate super easy. Since it can open in or out will make it nice to clean out the barn and load cattle. Merry Christmas to me! It’s the little things that brighten your day, for me it is a new gate
