1-17-2021 WORKING FIRE At around 16:45 box 2(N. Allison Hill)was dispatched to the 1400 block of N. 14th St for a reported house fire with entrapment. A occupant on the 2nd floor had called DC 911 and requested EMS for trouble breathing. During the phone conversation with the dispatcher the caller told the dispatcher that he now believed the house was on fire. Due on the box were the Squad, Wagon 4, Tower 1 & Ladder 2. Battalion 5 arrived with smoke showing from the rear of a... row home, middle of the row , with 1 victim seen in a window. BC 5 then struck the 1st alarm, bringing Wagon 3, YC Rescue 69 and CC Air 13. Wagon 4 made quick work of the 1st floor fire as the other companies worked on the rescue of the victim on the 2nd floor. The victim was rescued via ground ladders. Sadly 1 victim was found deceased on the 1st floor. 2 lines were placed in operation from Wagon 4, with companies working several hours. 1-16-2021 WORKING FIRES A busy night shift for the "Bravo" Platoon. At around 17:00 box 1(Downtown)was dispatched to S. 4th St for a report of "smoke in a building, sending the Squad, Wagon 4. Ladder 2 & Tower 1. The Squad arrived at a large 3 story apartment building with nothing showing. Once on the 2nd floor, Lt. 8 reported light smoke. A small fire had occurred in a apartment. Some of the buildings occupant's forced entry, used a extinguisher to knock down the fire and t...hen dragged the apartments occupant, who was in bed, to safety. Shorty after companies went available, box 4(Allison Hill)was dispatched to Evergreen St for another "smoke in a building". The Squad arrived with nothing showing. Lt 8 then advised "smoke showing" after a quick recon. The Squad found a 'man on fire' in the 1st floor hallway. The victim was pulled from the building by the Squad Company. The victim suffered from severe burns over most of his body. Next up was a report of "smoke from a building'' on Woodbine St(Uptown), sending Wagon 3, Ladder 2, Tower 1 and the Squad. Ladder 2 arrived with smoke showing from a 2 story duplex. 1 line was placed in operation with fire in the basement. As the Squad and Tower 1 went available from Woodbine St., Dauphin County 911 dispatched both units to N. 3rd St.(Uptown)for a working car fire. Lt. Around 1530, A Platoon was sent to N. 14th street for a reported house fire with jumpers.... Captain 3 arrived with a 3 story end of the row with people waving from an attached deck..... a small fire was located on the first floor..... the Squad being heavy staffed split crews and one line was deployed and another member threw a ladder and assisted a civilian down a ground ladder to safety..... units operated about a half hour before clearing..... 1806 hrs Box 1-4 was transmitted for a building fire at 314 S 14th St. Squad 8, Chauffeur Wilburne, LT Worner and FF Rothrock (OT) arrived with fire showing from 1st and 2nd floor of a 3 story duplex. Squad Pipeman Rothrock stretched a 200’ cross lay and crews advanced it into the 1st floor and 2nd floor. 3 additional lines were stretched to various locations on all floors to knock fire and overhaul. D Battalion working. Chief Bastinelli in Command.

12-17-2020 WORKING FIRE At around 13:30 box 4 was dispatched to the 400 block of Cresent St.(Cresent & Berryhill)for a house fire, sending the Squad, Wagon 4, Tower 1 and Ladder 2. Battalion 7 arrived with fire showing from the rear. The 1st alarm was then struck, bringing Wagon 3, York County Rescue 69 and Cumberland County Air 13. Three lines were placed in operation with companies working for over 2 hours. The "D" Platoon at work with Chauffeur Henderson(55), Pipeman Brocius(8)(detailed) and Lt. Worner.

10-22-2020 WORKING FIRE This morning at around 01:00, the Squad Co. and Ladder 2 were dispatched to Front st in Cumberland County, Co. 13's 1st due for a working structure fire. HBF units could see a good column from the City bridges. Companies arrived with fire showing from a large office building. Several lines were placed in operation from the Squad as Ladder 2 opened up. The fire was quickly knocked down however it took several hours of overhaul. The "B" Platoon at work with New Hire, Kuhn, Chauffeur, Stoudt and Lt. Miller.

10-17-2020 WORKING FIRE At around 02:00, Box 5(South Harrisburg)was dispatched to the 1600 block of Paxton st for a reported house fire sending the Squad Co., Wagon 4, Tower 1 and Ladder 2. HPD arrived and confirmed a working fire. As companies were arriving they were greeted by multiple medical O2 cylinders exploding. The fire quickly spread to 4 houses with the 1st and 2nd alarms struck. The "Delta" Platoon at work with Squadmen, Henderson, Wilburne, Spangler and Lt. Yonkin.

10-14-2020 WORKING FIRES 2nd job of the night for the "B" Platoon. Companies are still operating in the 1900 block of Forster st(N. Allison Hill) At around 03:15 box 2 was dispatched sending Wagon 4, Tower 1, Ladder 2 and the Squad Co. for a reported house fire with multiple calls. Tower 1 arrived with heavy smoke in the street. Several lines were placed in operation with fire in a 2. 5 story duplex. ABC Morelli struck the 1st alarm bringing Wagon 3, York County, Rescue 69 an...d Cumberland County Air 13. Earlier in the shift, at around 21:00, box 3(Uptown)was dispatched to the 3100 block of N. 3rd st for a reported basement fire sending Wagon 3, Ladder 2,Tower 1 and the Squad. 1 line was placed in operation with fire involving 1 room in the basement. Fall of 2020 Congratulations to the following on 25 years of service to the HBF and the citizens of Harrisburg. Ladder 2 Truckman Pat Fuller and Squad Chauffeur Marty"Bud"Henderson. Both men served as volunteers at Station 8 for several years before getting hired full time with the Bureau of Fire, so they actually have more then 25 years serving the citizens of H-Burg.

10-10-2020 WORKING FIRE Early this morning at 03:00 box 3(Uptown)was dispatched to the 2100 block of N 3rd st for a reported structure fire sending Wagon 3, Ladder 2, Tower 1 and the Squad Company. The "Uptown" companies arrived with smoke showing. 1 line was placed in operation with fire gutting a bedroom. Companies worked for 1.5 hours. The "Delta" platoon at work.
