On Thursday February 6th the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 2 of Newtown Pa made a $2000 contribution to the St. Isidore Food Pantry. The donation was presented to the St. Isidore pantry in honor of Father Brabazon who served as the spiritual adviser for the Hibernians while he was stationed at St. Andrew’s parish from 2011 to 2014. The attached photo shows the check apparently authorized by St. Patrick himself being presented to Joanne Reiley, pantry coordinator, from Hibernian representatives, (left to right) Mike Shields, John McGovern & Joe McCann. We are very grateful for this generous gift which will benefit those in the Quakertown community suffering from food insecurity.

Thank you to the St. Isidore School families. As part of a community service project during Catholic Schools Week the parents and students of St Isidore school created 179 ‘Birthday Bags’ to be distributed by the St. Isidore Pantry to families in our community who are experiencing economic hardship The bags contained various party items like cake mix, icing, birthday banners, candles and some small toys. They will no doubt make the birthdays of the lucky recipients a great deal happier. Thank you, St. Isidore School for your wonderfully thoughtful charitable contributions.

Special thanks to the Quakertown Lions Club for the food drive they held at Redners Market on Saturday February 1st to benefit the St. Isidore Food Pantry. Their hard work and willingness to brave the cold together with the very generous contributions of Redner’s customers resulted in a bountiful collection of 168 bags of food totaling 890 pounds of food. The compassion of the Lions Club members and the charity of those Quakertown residents shopping at Redners on Saturday wil...l enable us to continue to our mission of providing food to those individuals and families in the Quakertown community who have difficulty putting food on their table. Thank you. We also wish to recognize the hard-working pantry volunteers who picked up the food at Redners, transported it to the pantry and stocked the shelves. Thank you, Donna Brant, Pu yong Szybist Pat Lelo, Judy Klingerman, Meg Knieriem & Christine Schultz.

The attached photo shows Joey Donis delivering multiple bags of food to the St. Isidore Food Pantry. Joey organized a food drive among his friends, family and neighbors as part of a service project as he works toward receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. His mother Christina told us that Joey was very excited to be performing one of the corporal works of mercy, feeding the hungry. Thank you Joey for your hard work, your initiative and for your kind generosity to those who are in need..
