Good afternoon families, In an effort to keep you informed, here is the latest information from Region 11 regarding CYO Basketball: Region 11 has not yet received approval to begin the basketball season. The best estimate, if virus levels do not spike, is that the season may not start until January 4, 2021 at the earliest. If the January date is approved, the season will run through March 31,2021.... If the region receives approval, we will work with Msgr. Duncan to determine if St. Albert the Great can safely open the gym and hold events, while adhering to CDC and state guidelines. The health and safety of the children, staff, and spectators is our priority! We expect to have more information in mid December and will keep you updated via email and social media. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is finalizing a plan to safely reopen CYO athletic programs. Rest assured that Monsignor Duncan is closely monitoring and will only resume activities if we can do so safely, cost-effectively, and within the guidelines mandated by the CDC and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Intramural Basketball: Intramural programs will remain on hold. We will advise of any Intramural program updates as we receive them.... Hello families, As we embark on a new school year, we sincerely hope that you are safe and coping well during these strange times. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has provided guidance for CYO sports. For the safety of our players, students, parishioners, volunteers, and parents, competition for the 2020 CYO season will be suspended until further notice. NO games or matches will take place between CYO programs.... This is frustrating for all participants, but safety is our priority.
