Another chilly fall day to continue our day in the patch picking and binning pumpkins. First photo is just another beauty of rainbow, the second pumpkin is 1 of 2 varieties we plant in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. The porcelain doll is known for its eye-catching hybrid pink pumpkin with deep ribbing and almost square appearance, stacks well and is sure to be a winner for your decor. Porcelain Doll has deep-orange sweet flesh that can be used for pies, soup and other g...ourmet delights. When picking, wait for the stem to get fully corky for maximum pink potential. All growers are encouraged to join the fight against breast cancer and sign the pledge. Did you know?! That rain or shine we are continuing to pick pumpkins on the farm. Each pumpkin here is hand picked, then wind-rowed, then placed on wagons to be washed, the pumpkin is then again hand picked and placed into bins. That means that we roughly handle the same pumpkin 3+ times. Our family grows over 30+ acres of pumpkins, in over 30+ varieties. We have pumpkins ranging in size smaller than a baseball to over 100 lbs . Our family currently does all this work while delivering pumpkins to neighbors states, and counties. An average day consist of picking roughly 1400 pumpkins!
