State Street Elementary School 04.11.2020

Dear Ambridge Area School District Community: On November 6, 2020, we received notification that a student at Highland Elementary School tested positive for COV...ID-19. This student was quarantined last week as a precautionary measure after a staff member tested positive. In accordance with the guidance set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Model, Highland Elementary school will be closed for five calendar days. Classes at Highland Elementary School will be held virtually on Monday, November 9th and Tuesday, November 10th. Classes will not be in session on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 due to the observance of Veteran’s Day. All other schools in the Ambridge Area School District will continue to operate on their regular hybrid schedule. All Highland Elementary School staff will work from home and provide educational services virtually until the school is reopened. The welfare, health and safety of our students, staff and visitors is of the utmost importance to the Ambridge Area School District. We have developed rigorous guidelines, procured necessary supplies, and held staff trainings to do everything possible to meet this goal. We continue to ask that all persons accessing District property continue to follow standard COVID-19 safety recommendations, including the following: Wear a mask at all times Maintain a distance of six (6) feet from others Wash and/or sanitize hands often Stay at home if you have a temperature of 99.5 degrees or higher or are experiencing other symptoms of COVID-19 illness Please remain vigilant against this public health threat which is circulating in our community. Together, we can work to prevent the spread of this virus and stand ready to do so. Dr. Joseph W. Pasquerilla Superintendent of Schools Ambridge Area School District

Hi everyone! It’s that time of year for Christmas and Holiday shopping usually the PTO would be prepping for Santaland but we had to cancel this year due to COV...ID 19 restrictions. The State Street PTO will be hosting a fundraiser at Five Below in Monaca and Cranberry Twp, PA November 20-29, 2020! It’s as easy as shop and let the cashier know you’re shopping with State Street! Please help us support our students and teachers during this trying time so we can provide necessary items for our classrooms! Thank you - State Street PTO See more

Dear Ambridge Area School District Community: I am writing this letter as an update to our correspondence on November 2, 2020. We have been in contact with th...e Pennsylvania Department of Health. They informed us that they will be doing the contact tracing reaching out to all affected staff and students. Those staff and students will be quarantined through the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Highland Elementary students and staff, will report when the building reopens on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, through the regularly scheduled hybrid model. As a reminder, due to the quarantining of staff members at Highland Elementary, you may see a new link in your child’s TEAMS calendar beginning on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. If your child is one of the students impacted, the new invitation will come from Dr. Burns and will have the term new link in the title. As a follow up to the Ambridge Area Middle School COVID-19 situation. We have been in contact with the Rapid Response Team and are awaiting the Pennsylvania Department of Health to contact us for information regarding contact tracing. As a proactive measure the Ambridge Area School District Administration contacted the list of close contacts and told them not to report until they hear from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. All other Ambridge Area Middle School students and staff, will report when the building reopens on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, through the regularly scheduled hybrid model. At this time the District has taken its own measures in order to keep our school community members safe. Rooms are being sanitized and all affiliated COVID-19 symptoms are examined every day students and/or staff are in the buildings. The District continues to monitor the situation. All other buildings in the Ambridge Area School District will operate on a normal hybrid schedule in accordance with district garnet and gray calendar.
